Third person's POV
Wild fragrant flowers bloomed over the clearing, juicy fruits grew on the trees, the forest painted itself into a expressionistic painting and the cold snow fell to cover the land. As seasons went on and Eve worked hard to learn everything that Henry could teach him. Time flew by quickly, two years have passed and Eve is now seven. By relying on the forest to survive and learning from Henry, Eve had learned bout the plants and animals in the forest. Henry not only taught the boy magic but also taught him how to craft magic items and how to use alchemy to make potions. Although Henry only has a rank C on the latter two subjects he taught it to Eve making sure that a the very least he is on par with his level of skill before letting him go off into the world own his own. At some point, even Henry had to learn from Eve.
Eve had grown a lot besides turning six and seven he also was able to, gain new skills, have four skills improved up to ranks C or D and level up to level thirty. Throughout the two years not only Eve grew but Alpha, Beta and Delta also grew, hunting daily and helping defend their home against monsters had helped them level up. Now all three are rank D-demon wolves, their fur had turned as black as a moonless night and their eyes had changed to a beautiful, deep crimson color.
(A/N: Henry's stats on the two extra subjects-Crafting level 45, Alchemy level 50)
Henry's POV
Its been two years now and I've passed everything I know on to Eve. I remember when he first casted his first spell I thought he was just talented but over the two years I have realized this child is a genius. He had learned so fast I now have nothing to teach him. He had learned crafting and alchemy to levels that were equal to mine and he had learn all Blank magic aspects. Although what shocked me most was how he was able to learn Blank magic so easily over the course of one year then moved on to alter my Blank Magic spells and items to his liking, spells became shorter, the rage and variety of blank magic increased, items that he made or recreated could only be used by him. Over the last two years I had to learn restudy the magic I created from this child. Imagine me his teacher having need to learn what I am supposed to teach from my student!?
I am very proud of Eve. He is a dedicated student who has a talent for absorbing knowledge and a passion for the unknown. He has recreated what I had created, a student surpassing his mentor by giving new life and meaning to what his mentor created. He has proven himself worthy to be the next Blank Magician. I know the boy is considering of going out to the world after I had confessed the one day that I was no longer able to teach him and I would move on to the after life once the boy has made his decision. Thanks to the boy my final wish has finally been granted after thousands of years, I am ready to move on. I'd leave everything left of what I had owned to the boy my memories, my home and my knowledge.
Looking over the clearing not far from the cottage I could see the boy play with his wolves. Over the last two years the wolves had also grown too, becoming large demon wolves which looked terrifying, strong jaws that ripped strong monsters to pieces, long sharp claws that were as sharp as swords attached to their large powerful paws and crimson eyes that seemed to rob you of your soul. Yet when ever it came to the boy they would turn into overgrown pups. *signed* I shook my head and signed as the boy wrestled and rolled around with his wolves in the sea of grass in the clearing. If a normal person passed by they'd think that the wolves were tearing the boy apart and little did they know that the boy had the wolves wrapped around his pinky.
Eve's POV
We had played in the clearing after hunting and gathering materials we needed from the forest. Soon the sun started to set and I climbed onto Alpha's back and we headed home. Over the last two years the relationship between the wolves and me had gotten closer, we could talk to each other with the passive skill pack link. I still remember the day I had heard them for the first time.
<------------- flashback start ----------------->
"Boss is so nice" (Beta)
"Yeah, he even took the liberty to make a bed for us." (Delta)
*whine* "Remember the day boss wove our bed his hands had started to bleed and become red and swollen but he didn't stop until he was done." (Beta)
Eve's POV
"Is that you guys talking." I asked as I stopped to look at them. I had been hearing words in my head for awhile before and soon later the words turned into sentences. It was strange at first and I didn't understand it but soon I realized that it was the voices of Alpha, Beta and Delta. Although today is the first day I have heard a full conversation.
"Boss! Can you finally hear our voice," Alpha had responded when looking at me with hopeful eyes, a wide wolfy grin and a wagging tail.
"Yes, I had been hearing bits and pieces for awhile." I addmited. If their tails wag any faster I think they would be able to fly I thought as I looked at the three wolves that looked at me with eyes of excitement.
" Yay! Hahaha!" They cheered and laughed as they pounced on me.
"Eww! Stop you guys are crushing me!" I yelled out under the pile of wolves that were slobering my face with drool.
"We waited so long for this moment because boss isn't a wolf, boss had to trust us and love us enough before a formal link can be created so that we can communicate like this." Alpha had explained after they had all calmed down. I sat cross legged users tree, Beta and Delta cuddled on either side of me and Alpha sat in front of me.
"Oh, I understand now." I say as I nodded my head.
"Now that boss can hear us we want to thank you." Delta continued.
" Yeah, we want to thank you for giving us names." Alpha said.
"We want to thank you for accepting us as apart of your pack." Beta added.
"And also for all the things you do for us." Delta finished and they nuzzled me lovingly. I was speechless, I only accepted their pack because it was kinda forced onto me when the title just became mine after I killed the demon wolf, I only named them because it made it easier to call them individually but I guess I did accept them as family. I did want to help them like how family support each other, even though we aren't blood related and they are wolves and I'm a demon we felt more like family the the family I had in the last life. It felt nice to feel like I belonged somewhere. It felt nice to feel to be wanted for being who I am. It felt nice to have a family out of loyalty and love. It was nice to not be compared and measured of my worthiness to them.
<---------------- flashback end --------------------->
The thudding of the wolves' paws could be heard as wind rushed past me as we jumped over the fallen tress and lept over small streams. Thinking back to that time makes me feel warm inside, happy and loved to finally belong to a family that isn't at each others throats or leeching off each other. I am free from a suffocating toxic family.
"Boss we're home." Alpha said as we slowed.
"I'm so glad and grateful I have you guys." I say with a grin as I climbed off Alpha's back and held the three wolves in group hug.
Third person's POV
As the sun set over the great forest, outside the small cottage that a small unusual family called home, the family could be seen holding each other tightly. The boy's small frame drowned by the wolves big frames, a childish grin appeared on his face and his eyes filled with appreciation and next to them stood a ghost of a old man who had welcomed them home, watching them with soft adoring eyes. In the warmth of the setting sun and the rise of the silver crescent moon those far away could hear the wolves howl in happiness as their most precious family member admires them.
