"I actually think it'll be easier because tea parties require less extravagant things like food and decorations." Kai says, but Yoongi grunts. "Who pays attention to tea parties? They'll be looking for the most extravagant one."
"Don't be such a downer hyung." Jungkook shouts from the other side of the room, looking over fabrics for the table cloth. "Attitude is everything." Hearing his brother say that, Yoongi's upper lip quirked up. "Look here." He says. "When did my little Kookie become so wise?"
Jungkook glared at him, but Yoongi secretly knew he liked the praise.
"There's so much things to consider for tea parties," Kai muttered, flipping through a manual on the basics of planning a great party. "You need to select flowers and pay attention to meaning, tablecloth, napkin cloth, chairs, the food, the tea, the spoons and cutlery, plates, and even plants."
"Don't forget the carpets too." Jungkook added, finally picking out a baby blue table cloth set. "How about we make it ocean themed? Or blue?"
"I think we should stick to pink or creamy colours." Kai mused. "It looks the most aesthetic when put together."
"Then what do you suggest?" Yoongi asked, and Jungkook hummed. "What about cute animals? Everyone loves them!" Kai sat up suddenly, his eyes shining. "That's actually a pretty good idea!"
Yoongi started to visualize what the tea party should look like. "So...cute animal themed?" Jungkook nodded vigorously. "Yes! Like tablecloths with baby cats as outlines, and baby bears on the tea cups, and stuff like that."
"So, are we all on this idea?" Kai asked, and Yoongi nodded. "I think this is actually a great idea, so let's hope people like it."
"Pass me the tea cup list?"
For the rest of their free time, they spent it on musing over lessons and manuals on the theatrics and the tricks in learning how to make a proper tea party.
"I think we should have tiger shaped cookies and animal shaped flowers?" Kai asked, but Jungkook shook his head. "We're going for cute, not demonic monkey flowers."
Kai chuckled a bit and scraped that idea off the list. "Then what should we do for the flowers? Should we make them a big one that is a bunch of flowers together that looks like an animal?"
"That's too messy, besides it'll take too long to assemble."
Kai grunted and tossed the manual onto the table in frustration. "Now I think about it, doing it like that seems really stupid. Should we just go with normal flowers? I mean it doesn't have to be animal themed everything."
Yoongi nodded slowly. "We could have small flowers, like wildflowers, right? Animals live in the wild so it'll make more sense than roses or huge lilies."
Jungkook picked up a couple of sheets and ran over to the table where Yoongi and Kai were sitting. "How about these ones?"
Yoongi took the pamphlet from Jungkooks hands and looked at a couple of wildflowers they selected. "How about Iris purdyi? It's not as purple as the other ones because I think purple will be hard to style, but this is a pretty neutral colour."
"Then should we go with that?" Kai asked, taking the sheet from Yoongi to have a better look at the flower. Yoongi nodded. "Let's go with it."
After deciding which flower they were going to use, they started to look at table cloths. "I think for a general colour we could go with the creme type, like creme pink or yellow." Kai mused. "Because the flower we chose is similar to those colours."
They ended up choosing pastel pink, but more pale.
"What about the food? We have to send in our entry by tomorrow to give the chefs enough time to prepare what we need." Yoongi said. Since the type of party was a tea party, that means the appropriate food that should be served were scones, biscuits, small bite sized sandwiches, sweets, and other stuff like that.
"How about we have strawberry and blueberry scones, with shortcakes and oatmeal cookies?" Jungkook asked, and Yoongi smirked at him. "You're only saying that because you like those things."
"True, but still, you would see those things at a tea party. And we would go to every party anyways."
After a while, they managed to get their hands on some samples, and they spent an hour tasting the foods they could have.
"This strawberry shortcake is really good." Jungkook mumbled in between bites. The strawberry shortcake was a sweet cake with whipped cream and strawberries on it. "We should include this."
"I agree with Kook." Kai said, wiping his lips to get rid of the cream that was on his lips. "I also like all the finger sandwiches."
"That's a lot of sandwiches to include." Yoongi pointed out, but Kai shrugged. "What? They're amazingly good."
There were a couple of selections, such as ones with raw salmon in it resembling sushi. "I think we shouldn't include the raw salmon, because some people don't like it." Jungkook said, sniffing the salmon curiously. "I don't like it because it's slimy."
The end result of the foods they chose was the following:
• strawberry shortcake •a selection of finger sandwiches •blueberry and strawberry scones •an assortment of muffins • oatmeal and lemon cookies •lemon poppy and banana bread •cheesecake
"That list actually doesn't seem too bad." Jungkook said giddily. He was already excited by the list that was presented in front of him.
"We can adjust it as we go." Yoongi sighed. His back hurt from bending over articles for hours on end. "Lets rest for today. I'll submit the list to the kitchen and then we'll continue tomorrow."
