In the days that followed the talent show, the Alphas were given a week off to relax as a reward for their hard work.
Yoongi in question, used this time very well.
He explored the many rooms of the palace. (There was a fuckton by the way)
He discovered that the palace had a movie theatre, art studio, a kitchen that was not used for the everyday cooking of the royal chefs. There was even a shooting range and archery range as well.
He even found a pc room, and stored that information away in his head to tell Jungkook later. His brother had always looked longingly at the various pc cafes whenever they went to urban centres, but they never had the time to go.
Travelled a bit lower and he found a bowling centre, with absolutely no one in it. What was the point of having such a big bowling place if there wasn't people using it?
Travel higher and he found an astrology tower, with a telescope and buttons that could open and close the hole at the top. Yoongi makes a mental note to come up here when the stars are bright.
Travel to the Far East wing of the palace and he found a zoo.
A freaking zoo.
There were peacocks, tigers sleeping in a patch of sunlight, monkeys chattering as they hopped around in the tree branches, various small birds flitting around in the air, hippos grunting in the water as they raised their heads to breathe.
Yoongi had never been to a zoo before. He hadn't even come close to such exotic animals in his life time, the only animals he encounters being pigeons and stray dogs and cats.
He makes another note in his head to visit here with Jungkook and Kai.
Travel to the west and he found an aquarium, which really should've been in the east, but Yoongi guesses they ran out of ideas to put in the west wing.
There were sharks, whale sharks, dolphins, and fishes. With how empty the places he had been, he wonders how they are maintained. Maybe they came at night.
He had been so absorbed by looking for new places that he had forgotten what time it was. He looked at his watch and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
11:00???!!! His mind screamed internally. He quickly looked around for the exit and started walking at a fast pace.
It took Yoongi at least 20 minutes to reach the aquarium from the zoo. Maybe he'd be able to reach his room by 11:10.
He halfway to his room when he hears muffled grunts. He pauses in his movements, ears straining to try and catch the sound again. He hears a muffled cry this time, closer now.
He quickens his pace, ears alert to catch the sound again. He hears it again, and it's closer now.
Suddenly, a small body barrelled into his space, startling the Alpha. His hands shoot out to catch the body and stabilize it. He could feel the body shaking, and he raises a hand to lift their head.
It's Jimin, and his eyes are wide and unfocused, his lower lip trembling.
There's tears in his eyes too.
"Wha-?" Yoongi muttered, confused as to what is happening. His question is answered only a few moments later.
An Alpha stumbles into view, his mind clearly not in the right place as he was mumbling and his eyes were unfocused. At this moment, Yoongi suddenly smells a wave of slick, the sweet potent peach smell making his head spin. Suddenly everything makes sense.
Jimin is in heat. And this Alpha was just about to take advantage of that fact, (although Yoongi could understand why, as the smell of Jimin was honestly the best smell he had ever had the pleasure of smelling), but despite the Alpha inside chanting, mate! Mate!!, Yoongi was reading to knock the hell out of the other if they even land a hand on Jimin.
"Get out of the way." The other Alpha growled, dark eyes trained on the shaking omega in Yoongi's arms. Jimin whimpered at that, and another wave of slick gushed out, making Yoongi stumble. It was getting quite hard to ignore the whines of the omega in his arms, though Yoongi still managed to keep some rationality. He knew he didn't want to take advantage of the other, and that was enough to keep his inner wolf at bay.
The other Alpha however, was a different matter. He was growling now, fuelled by the smell and whines from a very compatible omega, and his inner wolf was going wild.
"You better think about what you're about to do." Yoongi warned, and the other Alpha growled softly. He didn't seem to hear what Yoongi had said, his entire conscious now focused on the squirming omega.
The Alpha lunges for Jimin, taking Yoongi by surprise. He quickly swivelled around so that his back was the one to suffer the impact of the Alphas claws in his skin.
Yoongi hissed at the pain, and smelling the pain pheromones Yoongi was emitting, Jimin let out distressed whine.
The Alpha growled, obviously displeased at the fact that his competitor was keeping the omega all to himself. Yoongi knew that the Alpha was not going to stop until it got what it wanted.
So, picking Jimin up in his arms, the omega letting a startled squeak and nuzzled his neck immediately after, he turned and bolted. He ran as fast as he could, and he could hear the other Alpha running after him.
Yoongi was trying to find guards, so they could try and stop the feral Alpha from hurting Jimin. With how crazed the other had gotten Yoongi wasn't sure if he could stop it on his own and protect Jimin too.
He skidded around the corner, Jimin letting out a small meep as he bounced around in Yoongi's arms. Yoongi was thankful that Alphas were natural strong, so he could carry Jimin around like nothing.
However the other Alphas legs were longer than his, so they were steadily gaining.
Eventually Yoongi did stumble upon a group of guards, who looked startled to see Yoongi speeding towards them with the crown prince in his arms.
However the moment they caught sight of the feral Alpha they immediately raised their spears and formed a protective layer around Yoongi and Jimin. The Alpha came to a halt, glaring wearily at the pointy spears directed at him.
The Alpha was promptly arrested, and Yoongi later found out he was one of the Alphas in the competition, and he and Jimin were supposed to have a scheduled meeting. But because of the way he lost control he didn't escape without punishment.
He was given a month of jail time and was promptly expelled from the competition.
