A strange fire burned in my stomach when I saw Kris, standing in front of me, possibly hearing what I just shouted to myself. The weirdest thing was: it wasn’t fear. Somehow the thought to bring along Kris with me to find Luhan crossed my mind.

Whoa, Jaeyeong, said my brain. You cannot bring Kris along. He’s a bully and he will only stop you from bringing back Luhan.

“Let’s get start packing now.” Kris said with a smirk. “We don’t want to be late.”

Wait! What did he just say? “What are you talking about?” My voice was calm even though the blood was boiling inside me.

Oh great. Don’t tell me I just got annoying glue stick that is going to stick with me for 24/7.

“I’ve been waiting to explore Enchanter’s land. Whether you like it or not, I am coming with you.” He said. “I have been studying magic and fighting with people for all of my life and you are immature. You can’t even fight.” He retorted. “I am the best person you will have for this trip.”

I’ve felt so relieved that I wanted to cry even though it was a bad idea to bring Kris. But he was right. He might be an ass but he’s the best person that I can trust and not to mention, he’s the only one who want to come with me.

“If you do say so yourself,” I tried not to care about him. “Now let’s get packing now.”

It didn’t take me that long to pack up.  I just put some water bottles, food, clothes, a toothbrush, and the most important thing, money in my back pack.

I walked back to male’s dorms and tried to find Kris’ room but I guessed that it would be near Luhan’s room and it was right.

And guess what.

He was bringing a big white luggage as if he was going to a trip for fun.

“What are you doing?” I asked in shock, unable to process what I just saw. There could be obstacles and monsters like in the story and how can he fight with a luggage in his hand.

“Packing” He put ‘duh’ face and rolled his eyes.

“You are going to bring this big luggage?” I asked again.

“No, silly. Only stupid people would bring the big bag to this suicidal mission.  I am bring the small backpack over there.” He pointed. “Now I just need to bring my sword.” He took out the long sword from his luggage and gently moved his finger along the golden sword.

Suicidal mission?

Sounds Fantastic.

He brought his black small backpack with some money, arrows, and bows. He carried the long sword and hid the small daggers under his sleeve. No wonder it’s a suicidal mission.

He had a lot of swords and weapons and I have none as if he was my bodyguard.

“Let’s go to the warehouse first.” He led me on to the really big room and my jaws dropped to see a lot of weapons. He accidentally threw me a shimmering bronze dagger at me and I liked it because it was light enough for me to swing around. “It’s your weapon. Now shall we go?” He smirked.

I nodded and followed.

“Now what do we do first?” He asked.

I forced a smile and smiled “A good question. So how do we get to Magus Land?”

He rolled his eyes “I thought you know.”

“Yeah.” I avoided his direct eye contact, feeling lost.

“But I know who can help us.” He said as he led me to the big mansion.

The Library.

Great. Gotta hit the books.

But within a minute, Kris knew how to get to Magus Land. What a smartass. “Let’s go. We have a crime to commit!”

Wait! What?

We broke into our principal’s office in the middle of the night. We went through the window and it was terrible. I was scared to fall from the window if Kris did push me.

But he didn’t.

He opened the secret door in the principal’s office. Wiat! How did he know all of that? I wanted to ask but I kept my mouth shut. As soon as the door opened, it reveals a big rectangle with bright light.

“This is our mark.” Kris explained as he hold my hands.

“What are you doing?” I asked in confusion.

He brought me into the rectangle and mumbled something- which I didn’t understand at all- but the light got brighter as it opened portal under my feet. He holds my hands tighter as we fell down. I wanted to scream like a kid but I didn’t say anything. If I shouted like a kid, Kris would tease me forever.

“Remind me again- why do you have to be so mean to other people?” I shouted.

“It’s my style, okay? So stop with the questions, okay?” His mood got darker and I could tell he was angry at me.

I felt somehow guilty to make Kris angry with the simple question but in some ways, he might get offended.

-OOOOOF- We both fell down on hard solid ground. I hold my legs tight as I felt the pain but Kris was perfectly fine.

“Are you okay?” He asked with worried eyes. The first time I saw his eyes with worries fill in them.

I nodded. Then Kris’ eyes filled with fear. WIIISSSSHHH! Before he could turn around, the blade was shot from behind Kris. My eyes scanned around but I didn’t see anything moved around. Then WISSSSHHH! Another blade was shot from behind again and this time I yelped as the blade was an inch away from my face.

“You two, come with me quietly. If you try to fight with me, I will show you how accurately I can throw.” The voice said as a face with a scar and a big monster near him come into our view.
