19 (Determination)

We spent two days in Enchanters’ Lands because Kris was having mental breakdown and then after that, Kris was back to his old Kris. Cocky and Arrogant but I could tell that he covers his pain and tries to be himself.  And you know what he decided?

He decided to go to Magician’s Land to get revenge because his dream said so. He said that if your magic became stronger, your dream sometimes came true. I didn’t argue with him because he was clearly unable to take any more my naggings.

Kris decided to bring along Luhan since it was his case, too. Kris had actually used his brain for good finally.

Actually, there is this voice going on in my head, too. It always asked me to find out who is the real criminal and directed me to go Magician’s Land, too but I told it to shut up.

But it didn’t. Every single nights or whenever I was alone, it kept talking in my mind and I thought I was crazy.

When Kris said to go to Magician’s Land, the voice shut up and I could finally slept peacefully.

And then we had one problem. We didn’t know how to go to Magician’s Land esp. there was no portals outside the castle. It was for security for Luhan’s sake when he went to the school. We were excited when Sehun said he knew another way out but he wouldn’t tell me until I kissed him.

So he got a few punches from Kris. That would teach the hot guy not to play with girls’ hearts. Thank you very much, Kris even though that was a little bloody.

We arrived at the kind-of-like-temple-thinge and went inside to explore but there was only thing there.

Enchanters’ Birthmark or tattoo or whatever you called it.

“Don’t miss me too much.” Sehun kissed my forehead and Kris pulled me away from him.

“Nobody will miss you. Trust me!” Kris continues. “Just do your chant and send me to the Magicians’ Land.”

Sehun does the chant as Luhan and Kris hold my hands. I took a mental note to make Kris teach me a few chants for portal. I had no idea what they meant.

 I was scared when I saw neither Kris nor Luhan. I wanted to cry again but all my life, why did I feel scared now?

I was always alone and people treated me differently but I wasn’t scared at the time.  I decided not to depend on Kris or Luhan too much.

I heard the voice again but not in my mind and it was woman’s voice this time. You father believe in you. You need to find the murderer to prove that you are worthy. I looked around and here she was, standing above the water.

My father? He was an ass and I had never seen him before and why should I prove that I am worthy?

If he is alive, he should come and see me.

Just go to Fire Land and there, you will find the criminal. Be careful, Jae. The murderer is awfully dangerous. Trap in the darkness and anger. And Jae, do not trust anyone not even your friends. 

“Wait! What- Who? “ my throat feels bitter and my anger rushes inside my body. Why did she call me Jae? My mom only called me that name sometimes. She said that my father used to call that name to me.

“Who are you?” I screamed with all my energy. I closed my eyes and opened them. She wasn’t there anymore.

“What happened?” I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned around and saw Kris running toward me. “Are you okay?” He tried to support me since my legs couldn’t support me at that time.

“Kris, whoever killed that girl is powerful and might be deceitful, heartless, and … well, scary.” I said with a pair of worried eyes.  “When Sehun said she can use a dark magic, I was kind of scared. What are you going to do if we found that criminal?” I didn’t say a weird woman came and talked to me but I needed to warn him.

I was not sure to trust that woman but at least it will keep us on guard.

“It’s okay. Now let’s just find the criminal now. We will think of other plans later.” He messed my hair up and saw his smile.

He smiled again.

Luhan was trying to find us because the force on the portal was strong, causing us to fall apart in different place.

Here we were, in the middle of the forest, standing like lost kids. “Do you know where Fire Land is?” I blurted out.  

“Yeah. It’s in the west.” Kris paused and looked at me. “How did you know those regions of Magicians Land?”

“I paid attentions while you didn’t.” I blew raspsberry and headed to west- which I thought it’s west.

“You know west is that way.” Luhan pointed.

“Ha. I know that.” I scoffed.

First of all, I knew that Kris and Luhan would never left me alone and I was 100% sure that they would be eager to save me when I am in trouble. 

I decided that I was not going to prove to anyone that I am worthy.

And I didn’t want to meet my dad even if he wanted to.

But I was determined to find that murderer.
