Luhan came out from the armies and ran toward me but he stopped when he saw Kris. I believed Kris’ mom is back to normal. She mumbled something to ear and Kris was crying as he nod. She looked at me. Her eyes were angry, but pleading too.

She mouthed something which I couldn’t figure it out.

“I love you, mom.” He said softly. She nodded with a smile and her hand went slack. Kris’ knees buckled and he tried to stop his tears. I looked at him and the battle between the son and the mother who has used by Eruer shocked me.

All of this happened in less than a second.

Kris came to me when he caught me staring at him. He untied my ropes and I realized I was crying and muttering sorry to him.

“It’s okay.” He gently patted my head.

I pressed my face into his shirt which smelled like blood (probably his mom) and kept my eyes closed. I was trembling, not from fear. His embrace was so warm and comforting I wanted to stay there forever, safe and protected but I knew it was my fault that she has died.

“I..am.. sorry.” Tears escaped my eyes as I mumbled a lot of sorry but he kept saying it’s okay. Then he passed out on me.

“Kris?” I gently shook him and Luhan came near me. My tears came down again and said “I thought you guys are dead.”

Luhan messed my hair and gently said “I guessed it was just an illusion. Nobody died except for those ugly monsters.” He paused.“I think he’s just tired. Royals will take care of them.”

Royals?

I looked at the driver and he gently smiled at me. I knew that smile. It’s familiar but I also knew that he wasn’t my dad before I met him before and he barely talked to me.

Thirty minutes later or longer than this, I walked through the huge door and it opened onto a green meadow. On the left was a grove of cedar trees and on the right a huge flower garden. The gardens bloomed with olive trees and rosebushes.  Four fountains gurgled in the meadow. Straight ahead, the grass slopped down to a big stairways which connected to an enormous room.

My eye couldn’t believe what I just saw. Look again, my brain said.

The garden seemed like a paradise.

My trip to a council room was a daze. There was a group of girls who were playing around as they looked at me. The children were playing around and some were practicing magic. Nobody seemed to care about us. The people who passed us bowed at the driver.

There, I stepped into this grand room. Massive column rose to a domed ceiling. There was a big throne in front of me, facing the door and there  were a lot of chairs which are facing at each other, forming an inverted U.

My legs became to tremble when I met eyes with an old man who was sitting in the big throne. The driver kneeled and said “We found out that Eruer is still resurrecting and I believe Byun Jaeyeong and her friend found out about that, leading us to the first target.”

“She simply led us to there. There was no way I would claim as my granddaughter and not enough glory to be the princess of the Fairy Land.” His voice boomed through the hall. I wanted to yell and slapped his face. I didn’t care about being a princess. I just wanted my dad back who I had no idea was. The old man continued. “And you, you cannot officially claim her as your daughter. Meeting dismissed.”

Thunder shook the place as he got out of the room and the people looked at me with pity and left the room with my dad (the driver), Luhan, unconscious Kris, and I.

I looked at the driver who is my dad. He stood up and ordered. “Give this young man a room and treat him well. Also those two. Give them some food and treat them well.” He simply smiled and left the room.

I got the feeling my dad didn’t know what to do with me but I was glad that he didn’t say I love you or I miss you because it would have been fake. Not to mention, he barely talked to me when he was my driver. He also didn’t give me lame excuses, so I guessed that was cool and I could live with that.

At first, I thought I was asleep. I knew I crushed on the bed when I first saw the bed in the room. It was fluffy and I was tired. As my eyes opened and my vision cleared, I knew it was reality to see Kris and Luhan with this ancient clothes (which made them hot) were looking at me.

“What happened?” That was the first thought I could ask of since my families are my enemies.

“Nothing, coma patient.” Kris scoffed. “Do you know how many days you have slept? I thought you died.”

“How many days did I sleep?” I asked, looking at Kris’s eyes which are full of amusement.

“Two days and a half. I did the fighting and you slept for that long?” Kris rolled his eyes.

“I would suggest that we get the hell out here possible. The King doesn’t like the fact that we are here.” Luhan adds.

“I don’t care. I said we get out of here when they chase us to kill.” Kris retorted.

“Kris.” I growled. “We are going back to Skell Academy.” I picked my things up and ready to leave.

“Oh, you should.” An unfamiliar voice echoed in my room and I looked at the guy who is leaning against the door. His skin is tan and to be honest, he looks hot. “My grandfather will kill you soon. He doesn’t like you.” By the fact that he addresses the king as his grandfather, I knew he is a prince.

“Thanks for reminding!” I scoffed as I purposely bumped him to get out of the room.

“But. He said, “If you somehow stop the resurrection, I think he will accept you. You know, going with a thousand of soldiers will only cause a commotion for the country. So you three might be able to do a perfect job.”

“Shut up. I don’t care about this princess topic.” I growled. “Can we go now, Kris?” I yelled at Kris and Luhan who are looking at us intensely.

“Name is Kim Jongin. Call me Kai. But for now, have a study session to study. So goodbye, sis!” He waved me a goodbye and disappeared as the ground cracked apart.

The way he called me sis kind of warmed my heart a bit. At least somebody appreciates me for being born.

My father (the word is actually kind of weird for me) came out of nowhere and said “You are going already?”

I nodded.

“Okay then. I guessed the portal is ready.” He patted my head. “Take care of yourself and mom.” He flashed a smile and disappeared.

I guess it’s the way of his to say goodbye to a daughter who he has looked over me but never came and met me.
