Severus, with a bag of herbs in one hand and Harry's unconscious body in his other arm, sighed in an annoyed manor. "What have you gone and done to yourself now, Potter?" He sets the bag of herbs on the nearest desk and gently lays Harry down on the floor. After a quick examination. Severus found the bite mark and knew exactly what happened and what it meant for poor young Harry Potter.
Using the levitation charm he walked to the medical wing with a floating Potter behind him. As soon as he got there he yelled for Poppy as he gently placed Harry on one of the cots.
"What is all the ruckus out here?" the Mediwitch asked as she exited her office/quarters. She approached the bed and saw Harry laying there. "What has the boy gotten into this time, Severus?"
"It appears he has gotten himself bitten by a werewolf. Do everything you can for him while I go fetch the Headmaster and McGonagall."
"Oh dear. Yes, right away. But you do realize I can't do anything to prevent the change. It has already happened. Technically, we are just waiting for the next full moon to see it."
"I know. But it would be nice if he lived to see the next full moon instead of dying of blood lose. So please do what you can for him. I will be right back with the others. We need to find Lupin and see if he is responsible."
"Yes, yes right away."
Severus left the medical wing and headed to Dumbledore's quarters to wake him up. When he knocked on the door the Headmaster opened it right away. Apparently, he wasn't sleeping. "Albus, we have a problem."
With an odd twinkle in his eye, Dumbledore responds, "I am aware, dear boy, go fetch McGonagall and meet me in the medical wing." Severus didn't bother to ask how he already knew, but he didn't like the look in his eye. The old man was up to something. Well, he usually was, but he was sure it involved Potter, and ever since Harry saved him during the war, they have developed a very strange sort of friendship. No one looking at them would see any difference, but behind closed doors they talked, and respected each other.
Severus didn't want the old man messing with his new friend, but at the moment there was nothing he could do. He was just going to have to keep his eyes and ears open. "What about Lupin? Shouldn't we find him to see if he is responsible for this?"
"My dear boy, you gave Mr. Lupin his Wolfsbane potion, didn't you? Plus, the first place he goes after every transformation is the medical wing. So, we should go there and wait for him."
"As you wish, Headmaster." Severus left Dumbledore's quarters feeling very uneasy. Something wasn't right. He headed straight to McGonagall's quarters to wake her up. After having a lengthy argument with the portrait guarding her door, Severus finally convinced it to wake up Minerva McGonagall.
"This had better be important to wake me up at this hour, Severus."
"Harry Potter has been bitten by a werewolf tonight. Is that important enough for you?"
Minerva gave him a scolding look for his sass, but said, "Yes, yes it is. Give me a moment to get dressed and I will meet you at the medical wing." With that she closed the door in his face.
Severus just turned around and headed back to the medical wing. He was used to Minerva's ways. When he got back to the medical wing, he noticed Potter was doing much better. His shoulder wound was closed up, so he wasn't bleeding anymore. It couldn't be healed completely. He would always bare the mark of the werewolf who changed him. Across from him, he saw a very confused looking Lupin, sitting with Albus.
"So, what is going on? Did he do this?" Severus asked menacingly while glaring at Lupin.
"Calm down dear boy, we don't know what is going on yet." replied the Headmaster.
A stunned and in shock Lupin shakily said, " I took the potion as always, but unlike always I don't remember what happened last night. Usually the potion allows me to remain in control and I can remember. What's going on? Did I do this to Harry? How could I not remember or be in control? I remember taking the potion."
While no one was noticing, Severus did a quick Legilimens spell on Lupin to see if he was telling the truth. He got in very easy because the wolf was so confused. He saw the wolf take the Wolfsbane potion, and then go through the transformation. After that everything is gone. Not fuzzy like his wolf's thoughts. Just gone. The reason he can't remember is his memory was erased, and the only ones powerful enough to do it, besides himself, are Voldemort, who is presumed dead, but no body was found, and Severus still has his mark, and the man sitting next to Lupin. The old man himself. The Headmaster. But what did the old man have to gain by erasing Lupin's memories?
