Mari's P.O.V. (After the Catwoman fiasco Mari and Damian go to bed this chapter is set later that night.)
"ugh" I groaned I couldn't sleep, so much had happened tonight my mind couldn't stop spinning. I sat up and looked at my clock, the time read 2:45 am I knew I should at least try to sleep but I'd been trying for hours it wasn't just gonna happen suddenly now. I swung my legs out of bed thinking what I could do. I should do my maths homework but honestly, I wasn't up for doing algebra at 2 am.... or at any time to be perfectly honest. I could go down to the Batcave and see how Selina was doing Grandpa and Alfred would still be up taking care of her. Selina and I were pretty close I remember when I was little I desperately wanted to learn how to fight and Selina was the only one who would teach me. I smiled at the memory as I pulled on a pair of jeans and my hero academia hoodie over my pyjamas. As I floated out of my room and to the Batcave my mind drifted back to the kiss. I still can't believe I kissed Damian it was completely wrong but at the same time, it felt so right. I kept telling myself it was all the heat of the moment but I know I'm lying to myself. I had been so deep in thought I didn't realise I started walking and had reached the steps to the Batcave. Suddenly my foot slipped and I started tumbling down the steps. I tried to start flying but my emotions were all over the place so I couldn't control myself. I was gonna crash, I closed my eyes and braced myself for impact but for some reason, it never came.
I opened my eyes blinking at the bright lights of the Batcave wondering why I didn't fall. Then I realized someone was holding me up. I looked up squinting in the light to see Damian's face staring back at me. "Sorry" I coughed blushing violently walst regaining my footing. He nodded slowly, staring at me intently with his forest green eyes. "Have you seen Selina?" I asked glancing at my slippers in embarrassment. "Yeah she's got a nasty abdominal wound but she'll recover in a few months" he replied coldly. "Is she awake?" I asked hopefully, I wanted to speak to her about this whole Damian thing. "No, but you can see her" he replied and began to slowly stalk up the stairs. "OK" I replied slightly disappointed "see you tomorrow," I said and started to walk towards the main part of the cave. "MARI" Damian suddenly exclaimed to my surprise. "Yes?" I replied spinning around staring at him quizically. "Get some sleep, he said and with that, he disappeared up the winding staircase. I sighed standing still for a minute secretly hoping he would come back but knowing deep down he wouldn't. I took a deep breath in and with that continued my way into the Batcave wondering what would happen next
