"So where are we going?" I asked her.

"Somewhere." She responded.

"You won't tell me?" I prodded.

"Nope."

"Why are we taking an uber when you got a rental car?" I asked.

"No drinking and driving."

"So we'll be drinking?"

"Well yeah, if you want to."

"Is it Italian?"

"I'm not telling you." She laughed. So I sat in the back of the uber pouting until she noticed me. "Cupcake, are you seriously pouting right now?"

"I just wanna know."

"You'll know soon enough."

When we reached our destination we paid the fare, well more like I tried to but Maihua got her wallet out faster, and walked into the restaurant. It was completely open and it was nautical themed.

There was a deck that hung over the ocean with glass tables sitting on it.

"How many?"

"Two." Maihua responded.

"Okay, right this way." The lady picked up two menus and led us towards a booth.

"Do you mind if we sit closer to the water?" Maihua points out to the deck.

"Of course." She led us outside and sat us at one of the glass tables. "A server will be with you shortly."

"Thank you." I smiled politely. "This place is really nice Maihua, how'd you find this?"

"Good ole' Google search." She responded.

"Hi, welcome to Moana Kai. I'm Liuliu and I'll be your server today, is there anything I can get you to start?" A very pretty girl said.

"We'll have some garlic bread and shrimp cocktail. And I will have a gin and tonic." Maihua said while pointing at things on the menu.

"I'll have to see your ID please."

"Do I really look that young?" She laughed and pulled out her fake ID.

The waitress laughed too and playfully put her hand on Maihua's shoulder. "That's okay u'i."

"What does that mean?" I asked her, trying to not look jealous.

"Beautiful." She said, not breaking eye contact with Maihua. Maihua looked at me smiling. "What can I get for you?" Luilui asked me.

"I'll just have water thanks."

"No she'll have a coke." Maihua retorted.

"Diet coke." I bartered.

"No, coke." Maihua said, smiling at the waitress.

"I'll get that in for you guys." She smiled back at Maihua, shot me a look and walked off.

"What the hell was that?" I asked. "She was flirting with you and you were obviously flirting back."

"Y/n, I wasn't, she was just being nice... Wait... are you jealous?"

"And a coke? Not even diet?" I said angrily. "Do you know how many empty calories that is? 140. Per can."

"140. Y/n, that's not even that much."

"It's a lot to me." She sighed and outstretched her arm on the table, her hand open to take. "What're you doing?"

"Taking your hand."

I wanted to claim territory so I took it and we began to look through our menus.

When the waitress got back she saw our hands and rolled her eyes. "Here's your G and T and a coke. Your apps will be out shortly."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Are you ready to order your mains?"

"I think so, y/n?" Maihua pointed to me.

"Yeah can I have the hawaiian salad with no tomatoes, onion, tuna or croutons and with the dressing on the side?" I asked, handing her my menu. Maihua let out a deep breath.

"Of course." She smiled fakely and turned to Maihua. "And for you?"

"I will have the grilled chicken with the coconut and pineapple sauce with a side of steamed broccoli."

"I'll have those out to you in a jif." She said, taking Maihuas menu.

"Really y/n?"

"What?"

"No tomatoes, onion, tuna or croutons?"

"I don't like tomatoes or onions, tuna is okay I guess and croutons make me bloat." I explained, pressing my hand against my stomach. "I can feel it happening just thinking about it."

"Everyone feels bloated after eating carbs, it's normal." She said.

"I just don't like it, okay?"

"Okay." She looked off into the horizon, looking angelic as always. "Cupcake?" She turned to look at me again.

"Yes?" I squeezed her hand.

"Why'd you get so jealous just then?"

"Why'd you get jealous when I kissed Frank?"

"Touche."

"Gotcha." I laughed, "I guess I just want to know what we are, you know? I know you broke up with Lex and I'm still sad she didn't call me immediately but I just want to know what you think of us."

"I think I want you to be mine." I couldn't believe my ears. She pulled a box out of her pocket and handed it to me. I opened the lid to see a delicate rose gold necklace with the initial M on it.

"Where did you get this?"

"When you were out grocery shopping I went to a jeweler to find something for Lex. But saw this and immediately thought about how much I wanted to give one to you."

"Maihua... I don't even know what to say." I started to tear up, "It's beautiful, help me put it on." I pulled it out of the box, handed it to her and she went behind me to clip it on. I pulled my hair out of the way and she left a gentle kiss on my neck.

When she sat back down she said, "You look gorgeous."

"So do you."

"Shut up." She laughed. "So will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course." I stood up as she did and walked to her side of the table. I hugged her and said, "Thank you."

"Anything for my bubba." She rested her hands on my ass cheeks and squeezed lightly. "God damn baby."

"Maihua, we're in public." I blushed.

"So what?" And with that she planted a passionate kiss on my lips.
