6 MONTHS TO THE PRESENT DAY...
[ JASPER'S POV ]
Again, I may have lied to Charlotte a bit more than I already had before, because my night didn't exactly end with Patina, and the reason I was laying now asleep in the middle of the high street was also another indication. After both getting slightly carried away about forging a hero alliance, it all got a bit more serious when Patina suggested we go to the labs now to see what I could gain.
'Sleep fighting - ' Mr Desilva begins as we eagerly cornered him on his way to work at around 5 in the morning.
'And Spanish!' Patina adds in as we make into the building. She knows way too much for her own good, but half of me's happy that finally someone can appreciate the full force of my power. The scientist takes it in as he pulls up his sleeve revealing what appears to be a tablet embedded into his forearm.
'Woah! Is that in your skin?' I ask while he begins dragging an array of chemical symbols around on the screen.
'Yes - all my staff eventually get them. Much more efficient at making notes.' Patina takes my hand squeezing it tight, as my heart races faster. Not only am I getting a way to hopefully control my powers, but I have a possible future girlfriend by my side - it feels like the whole town is cheering my name.
'Done.'
'Wait, what?' I cast my gaze over to the man as he presses a little circle box under a dispenser. Miniature glowing orange orbs tumble out into to the container eventually filling it to the top.
'How is that even possible? It at least takes Schwoz -' I stop myself. I cannot allow Patina to know any more than she already does. The man fixes the lid on to the dark silver metal shape as he smirks to himself.
'These, young man, are balls of bubble gum that will allow you to collapse into slumber at your will - therefore able to start combat.' He chucks them over to me in a swift movement. 'See, here at T.R.U.T.H. we see the problem and analyse the quickest solution. It's both fast and efficient.'
I study the little box in my hand - it's weird how these small drugs can help me achieve all I want, even if they are just a fancy glorified sedative.
'Thank you, sir - this is amazing,' I pause as we go to leave, 'also urmmmm..... sorry about my friends yesterday they don't know what they are missing.'
Turns out ironically I never did get a chance to sleep last night, as the sun started to rise over the dingy street. Hands in hands with girl of miracles, we walked as if leaving all our problems behind. But I knew deep down inside that weren't the truth - I was lying to myself. I had not only gone behind Charlotte's and Henry's back, but I had broken their trust by telling the one secret that really mattered.
No, this wasn't the T.R.U.T.H. at all.
So Wattpad deleted this chapter, which is annoying cause I then had to rewrite it all! So please enjoy even though it is more rushed then the normal ones.
