1 WEEK TO THE PRESENT DAY...

[ HENRY'S POV ]

Kissing Charlotte in the rain is probaly the best thing I've done in my entire life and I've fought on top of a train before. The line was pretty high already but every day somehow seems to excend the last, like how didn't I want to do this earlier. Kissing her is one thing, but dating is on a whole new level, a level I'm quite familiar with now.

But despite my utter bliss with her, I can't let that consume me, because there's still one big problem. Jasper.

I place my left hand on the wall, while my right hand is firmly attached to Charlotte's as we wait for the entrance to reveil itself. So secrets weren't an option anymore, she knew too much and with the whole Jasper situation, Blake just had to accept the fact this was now a team effort. Something I weren't really keen on either but it was giving us an new insight in the case. The case of the lost shipment, this was our top priority. The only issue wasn't we hadn't really got any where, other than thanks to Charlotte finding out that they were their prototypes of the Reality Pill, so nothing truly harmful, I guess.

The bricks slowly open revealing us the way in and Charlotte squeezes my hand a smile widing on her face.

'Still can't get over how cool that is.'

'It is pretty sick.'

...

'Okay, we've got a lead.'

Blake pounces up from the laptop while chewing his gumball. He grins at me before carrying on.

'Grey said last night that a new drug has hit the scene that has made buyers insanely happy, I think it's a lead, he'll take us there undercover in like a hour if you're down.'

Damn, he's fast working especially since yesterday we had fuck all.

'Yeah, I'll get on to it,' I reply poping a similar orb into my mouth, chewing it like wise. Blake already suited up throws me my shield as he restocks his gun.

'That is really impressive, Blake, I can go through the recent reports to do with drugs while you're at it. Maybe there's a trend, we don't know if the seller has even sold it to other sellers?' Charlotte enquires taking a seat at the screens already researching it even before Blake agrees. I strap the shield against my back, raising an eyebrow cockly over at Blake.

'Told you, she's helpful.'

'Okay fine, I trust her, she's your girlfriend, of course I would. You have a few friends that know, I have mine. You may be right about not keeping it all to yourself, can't help want someone to share the weight with.'

The weight, that weight is unbearable for anyone to hold.

I decide to finally look over to the left of me, where the metal bed remains occupied. Jasper. Not exactly the easy recovery Blake suggested at all, a few days turned into 3 weeks. And by the looks of it that three weeks could turn into something even longer. His condition is worse, he looks worse if that's even possible. I don't know anything about nursing and neither does Blake, but after quitting T.R.U.T.H. Char decided to take a small time job at the hospital down town. It allowed her access to many of the supplies which she had taken sparingly back to us. An IV drip runs down into his brusied arm, his hair's longer and just as messy as the first day. A slight beard has began to grow upon his face, but all of it added to the aged appearance he was starting to have - the fact that we were no doctors didn't help to the matter.

It was a stupid idea I have to admit that we never once decided to take him to a proper place, but I didn't know who would could trust anymore here, and by the looks of it not a lot of people. I wanted him only under our care and then hopefully under our care he would remain untouched. I walk closer as the others watch me, and carefully lift up his eye lid checking sign for recognition. Nope, just the same distant stare, just the same dead expression. I can't stand it.

'Nothing?' Charlotte whispers silently, her voice as dead as I feel, as I shake my head.

'Nope, same as yesterday, same as the day before that, and the day before that, and the -'

'We get it, Hen, let's go. Charlotte will take good care of him. You can't always let this worry you,' Blake places a hand on my shoulder, subtley pulling back from Jasper.

'Yeah, you're right, shouldn't worry.'

I make my way towards the exit but Charlotte stops me. She wraps her arms around my neck pulling me in for a kiss.

'Be safe.'

'I'll try.'

I've been so bad at posting recently because I'm finding it difficult to write the ending as it's so fucking confusing to write. But as always, I really appreciate the support like I came back on here after a week and it's nearly up to like 600 reads, which is crazy even though most of them are probaly mine.
