Chapter 2: The school day

When I got to school I honestly didn't know what to expect. Everyone has changed a lot since middle school and they have all become either druggies, smokers, bullies, or they were just nice to everyone. When I walked into the building with my brothers every boy turned towards me and stared. I got super uncomfortable so I put my head down and just found my locker. Bryce said to me "Nik if any of these boys bother you let me know ok." You said "I'm sure I will be fine Bryce. They're probably high or something already." Me and Bryce just bursted into laughter. He calmed down a little and said "ok I'm gonna head to my locker so I'm not late to class. Have a good first day." You smiled and said "thanks Bryce, you too." He laughed and walked off.

While I was getting my books from my locker I could hear people whispering about me. Some said "she new?" And the others said "Wait is that Nicole? She had a major glow up. Like she's hot now." You couldn't help but laugh and little and they noticed. You turned to the boys who were talking and said "one, yeah it's me. Two, I didn't glow up I'm the exact same. Maybe you boys have hit your head or something." One of them said "nope, your hot." I rolled your eyes and said "so what drug you guys on?" They looked at me weirdly and said "we don't do drugs." I laughed and said "ok good. I'm gonna leave now.. bye." I laughed a little when I walked away and just went to my first class. The teacher (ms fisher) was my first period teacher I guess. She seemed nice.

I found a seat in the back and sat down waiting for my best friend to walk in. Right after, there she was. Charli was my best friend. She has been my bestie since we were little kids. Kindergarten to be exact. We have gone through thick and thin together. Sure, we've had our arguments but they never lasted long.. maybe an hour at most. She saw me and smiled almost immediately. We haven't really hung out over the summer because her and her family had gone away to the Bahamas for the whole summer. Ugh I wish I was her.

Charli came and sat next to me and said "NIKKI!" You laughed and said "CHARLI!" She laughed and said "I'm sooo sorry we couldn't hangout over the summer." You say "trust me, I wish I was in your place over the summer. I mean, the Bahamas for like two months.. yes please!" She laughed and you both started work while catching up. Then she brought up one of your least favorite things. "So Nikki, cheer tryouts are today and you better come!" I have to admit, Cheer was not my thing. It was hard to just stand on the side and watch the football games and not be able to play. I shook it off and said "y-yeah sure." Charli knew what was bothering me. "Look nik, I know you wanna be on the field playing football but this is as close as you can get." I knew she was right. "Yeah I know.. I guess I will come." Charli smiled at me and made me feel a little better. Me and charli takes so much that the day just flew by and just like that, it was time for tryouts.
