Chapter 15: date night

*Skip to after school*

I got home from school in a pretty good mood. I forgot to tell my brothers about the date, let alone ask if I could go. I knew they would say yes but I always want to be sure. When I got home they were in the living room doing their usual, eating and playing Fortnite. I said "ok guys I'm going out tonight with josh ok?" Tayler said "and why should we let you go?" Uh oh, are they gonna make me stay home!? Bryce said "oh cmon tayler, she's like 17 she can be out with a boy. Only if she isn't stupid." I laughed and said "you should not be talking about being stupid bryce, but yeah I won't be stupid." Tayler said "ok fine, dont be late and if anything comes up call or text us." I smiled and said "ok thanks love you guys!" They smiled and I ran to my room to get ready. I remembered josh talking about going in his pool so I wore this.

Once I got ready josh texted me that he was outside so I ran downstairs and said "bye guys! See you later!"  My brothers said goodbye to me as I ran out of the door. I saw josh in his car so I got in and said "hey baby." He smiled and said "I like that. Hey baby." We both laughed and josh said "so they're doing this drive up movie thing in the park so I was thinking we could go to that." I smiled because I used to love drive up movies. "That sounds cool, any idea what movie?" He said "I think it's grown ups. You know, the one with Adam Sandler." I smiled super big. That was my all time favorite movie, besides tangled of course. "No way! That like my favorite movie!" Josh kissed my cheek and said "good because it's mine too." We both laughed and got to the park.

Josh parked the car in a good spot so we could both see the movie. Josh had bought a bunch of snacks for us to have. Once the movie ended we decided to go back to joshs and go in the pool. When we got there his house was pretty big. I followed josh inside and his house was pretty nice. I went to the backyard while josh changed into his swim shorts. I was on my phone until I heard someone talk. I looked up and saw an older guy, maybe his dad. He said "hello?" I said "oh eh hi, I'm here with josh." They guy said "oh ok, I'm his dad." I said "well nice to meet you. I'm Nicole." He said "well nice to meet you Nicole, josh should be here any minute." I nodded and he went inside. That literally scared me, me being around older people who I don't know just freaks me out. Well I mean it's Josh's dad so he cant be bad... right?

"Nikki whatcha doing?" I looked up and saw josh. I smiled and said "just waiting. I met your dad." Joshs mood went down. Did I say something..? "You ok josh?" He said "yeah I'm all good." I smiled and we both got in the pool. We swam around for a bit, played Marco Polo like little kids, and just talked. I can tell josh is hiding something. "Josh you sure your ok..?" He got a little more quiet and came closer to me "Yeah.. just stay away from my dad. Don't let him fool you, hes not the nicest." That scared me. I froze and josh hugged me and said "I'm sorry.. did I scare you..?" Don't lie don't lie don't lie. "N-no just thought of something." Dang it Nicole you just lied. Josh could tell too, I knew it. "It's ok baby. Just ignore him. He shouldn't bother you, he actually seems to like you." That made me feel better.

It started to get pretty late so I got out of the pool and said "I better get going, my brothers are gonna freak if I'm not home soon." Josh said "i will drive you, i don't want Jackson to come after you again like last time." I smiled and kissed him cheek and wen both dried off. I put my clothes from earlier on but since I only had a tank top josh gave me a hoodie and said "you keep it, i don't want you gettin sick." Omg yes! A hoodie. I have just become the happiest person. I love hoodies so much that it should be a disease for me, that's all I wore for at least a year. "Thanks joshy." He smiled as I put it on. When we got to my house I kissed josh goodbye and went inside. Luckily the boys were passed out on the couch so I snuck past and went to my room. The pool tired me out so I just went straight to bed.
