Irene and power were always in the same sentence, you could not separate them.
Her real name is Bae Joohyun, the first and only child of the Bae family the most powerful mafia in South Korea. Naturally she'd take the lead when his father passed away or in this case retire from his position.
Her mother could not take it anymore and divorced his father for reasons Irene understood perfectly. She wished her daughter to have a normal childhood instead of being raised as the next mafia boss, this underworld was surely driving her crazy and wanted to protect her daughter at all costs.
In the end his father had the last word, and she'd stay with her then her mother wanted nothing to do with the Baes so she disappeared. Of course Irene was affected by this but by the time she was only seven years old and just didn't have time to process the things happening around her.
Irene grew up in luxury, parties with many other family members and her father's friends. In those parties she learned how to read people thanks to her father she also met her best friend almost a sister: Son Seungwan aka, Wendy.
Wendy is younger than Irene but both became closer than anybody else in the family, both always stuck together. While Joohyun was homeschooled and taught many other things such as business, administration and self defense, Wendy was just a normal kid going to school and making friends only when they had the majority of age and Irene's father retired for health reasons, they had to take a huge step in their life's.
Irene at the age of 20 became the boss and took over his fathers businesses, Wendy at the age of 18 became the consigliere meaning she's her advisor.
It wasn't easy for Irene to get use to the administration and dealings for herself, with the time she started to develop a very strong character and that's how she's known in the family now almost six years later.
Irene has built her own empire even surpassing her father, the amount of money she has is tremendous and she's not spending it recklessly as everyone thinks she does, it's mostly spent in opening little business for people to get jobs.
But obviously people don't know how she gets the money, whether it's drug dealing or various criminal activities they will never now and they'll never meet Joohyun in person anyways.
She doesn't go out of her mansion unless it's absolutely necessary.
One of her favorite hobbies is watching the cctv cameras of her businesses so she can have them on check.
That particular morning a girl with long black hair entered the Red Velvet Shop that caught her eye.
"She's pretty." Irene said softly when Wendy paid attention. "Do we know who's she?" The blonde immediately went looking for her face in one of the various folders of people they had their IDs of.
"We don't have her information Boss, let's wait for Joy's report." Wendy said looking at Irene resting her back on the huge chair she was sitting on.
Irene had a very strange hobby too, she'd pick the most beautiful women to be her personal pets for a while and paying them huge amounts of money later.
Through the cctvs she noticed the girl leaving Joy's office, Irene immediately opened the communication speaker.
"What's the name of that girl?" Irene asked.
"Ha, funny I was expecting to hear your beautiful voice. She's cute isn't she?" Joy spoke to the camera smirking.
"Cut the crap Sooyoung. Tell me her name." Irene was losing her temper, and when she did everyone suffered the consequences.
"Kang Seulgi, 25 years old, was fired a few hours ago from her previous job because she apparently had sex with a co-worker, single, accountant, graduated from T University, lives alone in a little apartment in the 34th street that's all I know." Joy finished.
"Fine, you can go back." She cut the communication with Joy and directed her attention to Wendy.
"Tell Yeri to stop whatever she's doing and follow Seulgi, give her a description and the information Joy already gave us." Wendy obeyed and exited the office.
Irene felt it, it was the desire of possession and control taking over her, Seulgi was surely going to be her next pet she'd do anything to have her.
She was interrupted from her thoughts when a little 'ting' of her phone distracted her, it was Joy messaging her.
