Chapter 20

"I was in Revel in Marikina last January when I was  set up. They found a sachet of cocaine on my jacket which I didn't wear yet that night." he was looking at me intently while explaining what happened that day.

"Nagulat na lang ako noong pinalibutan na ako ng mga police. Sinasabi nilang sumuko na raw ako. I laughed at them because I didn't know what they we're talking." he chuckled.

Hinampas ko siya ng mahina sa braso dahil nagawa niya pang tumawa kahit seryoso na ang pag-uusap namin.

"That was the trigger they started looking for anything on my clothes. Until they found that. And I'm  sure that wasn't mine. Believe me Loren." panghihikayat niya sa akin.

"I know Syve." I smiled.

"I was detained for a day. My parents bailed me. On that day I looked for the bar's CCTV record on that night. And there I saw a guy who was smoothly going his way to me and the jacket hanging on my shoulders."

"Nahanap ba siya?" I asked curiosly.

"Hindi pa. While the investigation was still on-going I have to go here for a work." he admitted.

"Yeah work with your ex." I added and rolled my eyes at him.

"How did you know huh?" a corner of his mouth lifted.

"I have my ways Syve. Continue." I requested.

"Ashlen's my ex. I went here for a work, with her. That's all!" at talagang pinaliwanag niya pa ang bagay na iyon na para bang big deal.

"Oo na nga. Continue your story or iiisipin kong pinuntahan mo siya rito." I smirked.

"Alright fine... So when I went here they insisted that I ran away. That's why they put my name on the watchlist." he scowled.

"Huh? Eh di ba may ebidensya na nga na sinet up ka? Why did they did that?" naiinis kong tanong.

"I don't know? Dura lex sed lex." he stated.

I knew that statement. It means 'It's harsh. But it's the law.'

Ganoon ba talaga yun? Mukhang hindi naman patas. I don't know anything much when it comes to law and policies but I'm sure na may iba silang ginagawa or puntirya kay Syverth.

So what's with the riding-in-tandem incident? Konektado rin ba iyon?

This is serious. Syverth's safety is at stake now that the authorities have their eyes on him.

I am thinking na baka may kinalaman din ito sa papa niya dahil ito ay retirong pulis. Baka lang...

"I want you to be safe now and please follow what your mother says and your bodyguard." bumaling siya sa bodyguard kong nakatayo sa may pintuan ngayon ay may katawagam na.

Oh my! Baka tinawagan niya si mama na nagkita kami ni Syverth ngayon!
I panicked and looked for Peter. Bakit ang tagal namang bumalik noon?

I'm sure kahit na nakatalikod kami ni Syverth ay namukhaan ito ng bodyguard ko!

"Syve, pinagbabawalan ako ni mama na makipagkita sa 'yo." nag-aalala kong pag-amin sa kanya.

He seemed to panic too but still managed to calm me down.

"Okey, naiintindihan ko. Uhm... iuuwi na kita." he suggested.

"No! I.. I mean no kasi baka mapagalitan ako lalo. I'll talk to mama and Peter will bring me home." mukhang hindi siya kumbinsido ngunit tumayo na rin siya para tawagin si Peter.
