Darkness
The only thing I truly found comfort in. The darkness of my cave. The darkness of the underworld. The shadows. No one sees you in darkness
No one sees your faults. Your looks. Your self loathing.
It is simply you.
You, comforted by the solemn blackness that is death."Are you brooding in your own despair again dear brother?" Hypnos asked, strolling into my chamber, no invitation or permission asked for.
"Leave me be" I said simply, sitting up in the high window, looking out into the fields of the underworld."We are all sitting out by the Asphodel gardens, will you not join us?" He asked, browsing my book shelf
"I would rather not" I said shortly, refusing eye contact with him."Oh come on Than, you do not have to interact with them, merely entertain them with your presence. Macaria has been asking after you" he stated
I looked up at the mention of her name
She had been asking about me?Hypnos chuckled at me, smiling
I huffed in annoyance, he always did this. Teased me about my... affections for Macaria.
She was just so... captivating."Come on. They are all waiting" he said, I sighed and climbed down from the window, following after him as we made our way out to the group sat in the grass.
I noticed familiar faces sat around laughing and talking
I saw Macaria dressed in a white, her hair tied up and decorated with flowers, presumably from Lady Persephone's gardens
Small wisps of hair danced around her pale neck, her lips curved in a warm smile as she conversed with her sister Melinoe and Moros.Moros was a brother of mine, the god of doom, explaining his lack of empathy or courtesy for anyone around him.
I sat down by Hypnos, leaning my back against a tree as I watched the rare beauty across from me."I have told you Moros, I am not interested in your intentions" she said calmly and quietly, her angelic voice and pale skin gaining everyone's attention as Moros scowled at her
"Whatever" he muttered, looking away from her
He was always very fond of Macaria, yet she deterred his advances every time."So... have you decided what to do about Hera?" Apate asked as Nemesis sat behind her, braiding her red hair
"No" Hypnos sighed, I was curious now as to what she was referring to.Hypnos noticed my expectant look and began to explain
"Hera wants to put Zeus to sleep. So Poseidon can help the people with the war" he said
He was referring to the Trojan war, it was getting pretty out of hand and me and Macaria were rushed off our feet with solider deaths.
