Thanatos
The God of death, the God everyone loathes, and yet the one everyone longs for at the end, the God they cling too, seek comfort in, the God all the others forget about and yet... Olympus itself would fall without him.
He's lonely... under...

I had never expected this. Sitting opposite of Thanatos at a table of my family Squirming under my father's watch and my mother's curiosity With my siblings either side of us Melinoe next to me and Zagreus next to Than.
"I am so glad everyone is here to have dinner, it feels like it has been an eternity since I have seen my angels" mother said happily "It does" he grumbled "Yes, to think this morning you were not here and now you are back and it feels like you never left" Melinoe said, smiling.
"Like mother like daughter" father spoke up Oh goddess "Meaning?" Mother asked, cocking her head to the side "Meaning your daughter was not here this morning either" he said, looking towards me.
I lowered my head, focusing on my plate "Our daughter" mother corrected him "Our daughter would know that she should not leave the underworld. Not unless she is on duty, so no, not our daughter. When she is being wreck-less and breaking the laws down here... that is when she is yours my dear. That rebellious streak comes from you" he said.
"I am sure Cari has a explanation for this, she is young, she is dealing with the dead, is it so wrong for her to long to be free for a while?" She pleaded for my case "Yes. It is wrong when she lies and deceives us to achieve this... freedom, and it is wrong when another god also goes missing" he said, looking to Than.
"I-" "What are you talking about?" Mother interrupted Than "I am talking about our daughter... and my trusting god of the dead, both missing this morning and me having to send Hermes out to bring them back!" He said, progressively getting louder.
I tried to control my breathing My fathers anger was not something to be tampered with.
"I just want-" "I wanted to see a meadow" Thanatos spoke up, cutting off my sorry excuses. I looked at him, wondering what he was doing.
"A meadow?" Mother asked curiously He shifted in his seat slightly, clearing his throat "I... I do not leave this world very much. I do not see anything of... beauty or relevance to what I have been assigned to do with my existence. I just... I wanted to see something pure, something Macaria has had experience with. She has spent more time above ground than me. So I begged her to show me. It was my fault. My desire to leave and I take full responsibility my lord" he explained.
What? No he... he could not "Thanatos" I breathed out surprised I could not let him take the fall for me "You led my daughter astray?" Father asked "Yes, and I firmly apologise" Than said, hanging his head.
"What concern is this to any of us? They left the grounds, and what? Me and Melinoe leave frequently" Zagreus said, unable to see our father's issue "The concern is that they left together, you would not lead my daughter astray, no one could, she is a nightmare to handle and a fury with her temper" father said angrily, standing up.
