"You will not tell me what I will and will not do with my daughter" I said angrily
How dare she come up here and ask Zeus for assistance?

"Hades-"
"No" I cut Persephone off
"I know I need to let the boy go, but I will not permit a relationship between them" I said determined
"May I remind you Hades, that you do not decide what happens, I do" Zeus said

"When it suits you" Hera mumbled, bored
He looked at her
"And may I also remind you..." he continued, looking back to me
"That you have taken more than most gods have when it comes to bending the rules" he said

"I love my wife" I argued
"And your daughter tells me she loves this boy. That he returns her affections" Zeus said
"He does" Persephone agreed, I looked at her
At the betrayal beside me
"I shall not lie Hades, and I shall not agree with your decision, our girl loves him, he loves he-"

"He is not right for her" I said
"Have you consulted the fates?" Zeus asked
"No"
"Then how do you know?" Hera accused

"This is not your problem. Nor your responsibility, she is my daughter-"
"Our daughter" Persephone interjected
"And she is under my judgement, my ruling. And she has approached me with her problem" Zeus said

He was a smug vain deluded moron
He really thought he had order over us all
"Look, I do not wish to cause chaos in your family. But you are right Hades, you cannot keep Thanatos locked up. He has a duty. As does Macaria" he explained

"I am aware of that. It does not mean they have to cross paths again however" I said
"You wish to keep them separated? When they claim to be in love?" Hera laughed
"You are a fool Hades" she goaded

"And you are a whore, so do not advise me on my daughter" I snapped
"Hades, do not speak to my wife that way" Zeus warned
I stood up
"Then you can keep yourself out of my daughter's issues. She is my problem, my child!" I said angrily

Before I left.
I was not going to listen to this
To someone tell me what to do with my own child

My heart ached for the boy I had not seen for days
A melancholy sadness echoed in my chest
My empty cavernous chest
For my heart no longer beat inside.

It sat in the lonely hands of death, hidden in darkness beneath the castle.

"You spoke to Zeus?!" My father shouted, as the door slammed against the stone
"I did" I said uninterested in his anger, turning back to my book
"I am your father, Zeus is not going to tell you that you have any right in this secret affair!" He shouted
