Thanatos
The God of death, the God everyone loathes, and yet the one everyone longs for at the end, the God they cling too, seek comfort in, the God all the others forget about and yet... Olympus itself would fall without him.
He's lonely... under...

Blood... bright red blood was seeping onto the ground as a small woman lay on the floor Her black hair matted with red liquid, her chapped lips parted slightly and her brown eyes completely dull.
I watched as her soul raised from her body, the figure becoming paler as it did. Her eyes blinked a few times, adjusting to the new view around her.
She looked towards me, her eyes wide as she raked over my figure, then turning her attention to Thanatos next to me. "It is true, you are real" she said in amazement.
At least she was not panicking. We often received a lot of abuse in our roles, people trying to cheat us, hating us for the end of their lives, scared of death himself appearing to them.
I have been working in my role for around five years now, as the Goddess of blessed death I am in charge of transporting the blessed souls to the Elysian Fields. Thanatos was my partner, death himself, so naturally we would work together quite frequently.
"Victoria Tala... you have been blessed to go to the Elysian Fields, take my hand and I will take you" I explained, holding my pale hand out to her, to which she just stared at it "W-what about my husband?" She asked, worry lacing her words as she looked behind her for him.
"He will cross the river to be judged" Thanatos explained calmly She then broke out in sobs "N-no... we are supposed to be together" she cried frantically, crumbling to a heap on the floor.
"Your husband's actions mean that he must be judged, your soul however is lucky enough to go to Elysian. We are not sure what his sentence may be, you may see him again, you just have to have hope in the fates that you shall be reunited some day" I said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner.
Her sobs turned to sniffles and she nodded, so I took that as my opportunity to send her to Elysian, her soul flittered away in the wind, transforming into small blossom petals as it flew to the fields.
When she was gone, I stood back to my full height, looking up to the ashes of what was once the couples house. "It is so sad, is it not?" I asked quietly "Everyone dies eventually princess, it is not up to us how... we merely guide them in the afterlife" Thanatos said calmly, making me turn to look at him.
I offered him a sad smile "I mean how they cannot be together anymore... I know his actions are the fault for their separation. But it is sad, that woman devoted twenty four years of marriage, heartache, lying for him, only to be alone in the end" I explained.
