Expect the Unexpected

Chapter 42

A/N: This chapter skips forward in time to Christmas. I know it's a pretty hefty jump between two chapters but bare with me! Thank you lovelies!

"Scarlet..."

I groaned and put my blanket over my head.

"Baby girl..."

"Mmm.." I managed to get out, cuddling into the warm source of sound.

I heard a deep chuckle and then felt a gentle kiss.

Jason.

I rolled over and my blue eyes met his green ones. I smiled and stretched as I stood up.

"Merry Christmas baby..." he mumbled.

I smiled and kissed him gently, replying back to him, "Merry Christmas."

Jason and I were going over to his house after this for their family Christmas party. I was really excited to spend time with his family. His mom and I were really close, and I loved his little sisters to death.

He helped me down the stairs and the sight of presents under the tree shocked me.

My dad stood right next to it with a camera in hand.

"Dad! I thought we said we weren't getting each other anything!"

"Well too late!" He said handing me a present.

I smiled, "Well good cause I got you something anyways!"

I went into the kitchen and stood on my tiptoes to the cupboard where I hid all of my presents.

I grabbed my fathers and Jason's.

Jason had convinced me not to get anything but oh well. Guys just have to realize that girls won't ever listen to that rule.

I handed my father his, while sitting in the chair next to the Christmas tree.

It had taken my dad hours and hours to put on all of the ornaments. That used to be my mothers thing. Spending hours and hours making sure it looked exactly perfect. She would playfully yell at my dad, telling him how he put the ornaments in the wrong place.

I sighed and my dad handed me a small box.

"Start opening kid!"

Once we had all of the presents opened, except the ones Jason and I got for each other, I went upstairs and got dressed. I wore a cream sweater and curled my hair. I tied half of it back in a pony tail with a ribbon, and wore dark jeans. I put on the bracelet Madeline had made for me and admired it happily. She's the cutest little thing. I thought to myself as I slipped on my brown boots.

"Ready to go princess?" Jason asked kissing my nose.

I nodded and bid my father goodbye. He unfortunately had to work today until 8.

The drive to Jason's wasn't long at all. We mostly made small talk on when we were going to give each other our presents.

"Later blue eyes, goodness gracious have patience! You're going to have to get some for that baby girl of yours!" He rubbed his hand on my stomach and kept it there. I looked up at him smiling and blushing.

Once we pulled into the driveway he helped me out of the car and kissed my cheek gently just before we walked into the house.

"SCARLET!!! YOU CAME BACK!!" I was attacked by Madeline who hugged my legs happily.
