43. I MISSED YOU
Elijah's POV
"Hey sweety, wake up," my mom said as she gently pulled my blanket.
"Nooo... Mom, 5 more minutes," I cried.
"You will never change," she said.
"The fact that you thought he would change is sad. He is so stubborn its now embedded in his DNA." I heard my brother say.
"Stop it and be nice to your brother," my father said.
I was about to go back to sleep before I realized it's not normal to hear my family speaking. Unless."What the hell?!" I asked as I quickly sat up and realized my parents and older brother were in my room.
"Good to see you too, little brother," Elton said with a grin.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"You didn't think we would miss the selection ceremony, did you?" my mother said with a smile.
"All the families have to attend so that when the Prince's decision is announced its immediately made public. It's a big deal and we wouldn't miss it," my father said with a smile too.
I didn't realize until now how much I missed them all. I quietly got out of bed and hugged mom.
"I missed you. I missed all of you," I said with tears flowing down my eyes as my pregnancy hormones overtook me. Soon my dad and older brother joined as we shared a group hug.
It felt really good and I was happy they were around.Breakfast was jam packed today because other suitors families had arrived early in the morning. It was sweet seeing each person with their family. They looked alike or acted alike.
From one look I realized Lexi's parents were both doctors but her little sister was dressed like she was part of a band.
She was the ME in their family. We are always there. The different ones."Hey, Eli." I turned to see Amy walk up to me with an older woman and man behind her.
She looked like the man so I assumed he was her father and the woman was Sienna's mother.
"Hey, Amy. What's up? " I asked with a smile.
"Nothing much. Are you excited about tonight?" She asked as she winked at me.
"I'm just whatever. Just want all this to end." I tried to look indifferent because my family was next to me.
I didn't want them to know yet that I was head over heels for Prince Marcus and already engaged to him.
I wanted to show my ring to all the world but had to wait until after the selection ceremony."Okay, cool. Anyway, my parents wanted to speak to you. Because of 'you know what happened' they won't be attending the ceremony and thought it would be best to talk to you know. But don't worry, I will be there rooting for you," she said before introducing her parents and walking away to go and eat with the others.
She loves food just like me. A woman after my own heart. If I was straight I would definitely marry her.
"We would like to apologize on behalf of our daughter. We are glad you didn't get seriously injured from the accident," the man said and I could see he was being sincere.
I can't say the same for the dearest mommy who was basically glaring at me. Now I see where Sienna got it from.
"That's fine. I'm all good now. Just cant wait to take this cast off my arm but other than that im perfect. Thank you," I said before politely bowing and soon they left."So, those are the parents of the woman who pushed you down the stairs," my mother said and it was obvious she had a glaring competition with the other woman.
"Wait. How did you..." I turned to look at Mr. Wilson who gave me a huge smile and I knew he was the culprit.
I was hoping my parents wouldn't have to know but I guess that's not how Marcus works. He must have told Mr. Wilson to explain what happened. As tradition we were not allowed to see the prince until evening. I missed him so much already even if we spent the evening together.
"What's on your mind?" My mother asked when I was quiet for too long.
"Oh nothing. Let's eat," I said grabbing a plate and filling it with goodies.
The arrangement was different today. There was a buffet table and many small tables so that families could sit together. I wonder at what time they even did all this but it was great.
Many of the other guys came to introduce me to their parents and siblings and cousins."Wow, I thought I would never see the day when the Duncan Elijah was nice to people," Elton said with a smile.
"I had no choice since we were all stuck in the same house, we had to get along," I said.
"I have lived with you in the same house for 19 years but we still don't get along," my brother said.
"Well, that's because you are an idiot," I said before sticking out my tongue at him.
We argued a little longer before Mom stopped us and Dad just shook his head. He had given up on us a long time ago.
I just focused on my food and as usual Arwen brought me my ice cream.
"Slow down Eli. Anyway, who has ice cream for breakfast," Elton said looking at me like I'm weird.
"I do. Now shut up!" I said before digging in.
"Your brother is right. Slow down. Stop eating like a pregnant person," Mom said and everyone laughed.
I forced a laugh which was a little too loud and they looked at me weird. I ignored them and finished my ice cream. After breakfast they went back to the hotel to freshen up, rest and get ready for tonight.
Finally, I could take a rest. I was snuggled in my warm blankets when my phone buzzed.Prince Charming
