Did I make the right decision? Should I trust Thomas? Every time I'm near him I just get this feeling in my stomach that makes me feel like I'm loved. It's after school already and I'm waiting for my mom to pick me up when Thomas sits down next to me. "Whatcha waitin' for?" I type into my phone, "My mom." I see what he's wearing and I ask or type, "Why did you change?"
"Football practice."
"So you're a jock?" He shrugs, "I don't like to label myself as jock. I'm a football player and a pretty good one at it." I nod then I hear a honk and my older brother is waving at me. What is he doing here? "I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow, Thomas."
"See you Saph." I run to the car and hop into the front seat, raising an eyebrow at my brother. "Did you forget that I was coming down with Harmony?" I nod and he sighs, "I thought mom told you."
"Well apparently she didn't. Dad didn't tell me either."
"Dad doesn't care that I came down. He's still mad that I'm majoring in psychology and not medicine. He's mad because I'm not following the family business."
"He thought you would because when I was born like this, he kinda figured that his son would have to follow his footsteps. He wanted you to find a way to get me talking." He sighs, "You're still on about this? Saphy, you were a miracle child to mom and dad. You could've died but they saved you just in time. It doesn't-"
"Don't say it doesn't matter. I want to be able to talk to people, maybe I'd have more friends that way."
"Saph-" I shake my head and he pulls into the driveway. I jump out of the car and run into the house then up to my room. I sit on my window seat and just stare out at the ocean, wondering what it would be like to talk for once in my life.

"Alright, good practice everyone! Make sure you guys rest up for the big game and don't do anything stupid!" I roll my eyes at Coach's words. I walk inside the locker room, changing into my school clothes when Walter calls out, "Hey Thomas! Saw you talking to the new girl, you finally looking for someone to score with!" All the guys laugh but I just slam the locker shut, which quiets everyone down. "Don't you ever talk about her like she's some toy! If any of you, so much as touch her, I will end you. Is that understood?" It's completely quiet so I grab my backpack and walk out of the locker room. I jump into my car and I'm about to start it when I notice something. My eyes usually are pitch black when I'm mad but this time they have violet specks in them. What is going on?
