Chapter 13

Sapphire
When that bitch left Thomas on the ground and ran off, I felt something inside of me burning. Ashton and Nik came into the clearing while Tiana rushed over to me, "Sapphire are you alright?" I looked over her shoulder and Nik had a nearly unconscious Thomas over his shoulder. I shout, "Thomas, don't leave me!" I gasp and so does Tiana, "Saph, you just talked." I touch my throat, "This isn't possible. Why can I talk?"
"I guess seeing Thomas like that woke something up in you. Come on, let's get back home." We walk out of the woods then into the house. Ash grabs my shoulders, "What in the hell happened?"
"I don't know Ash! Some bitch with fangs kidnapped me and she said that she wanted Thomas." Ash lets me go, eyes wide, "You-you can talk."
"We've established that you idiot. What is going to happen to Thomas?"
"We don't know. The vampire didn't train him but some venom is in his bloodstream. They're using wolf blood to burn it out but they are only 45% sure it will work."
"This can't be happening. I can't lose him, not now!" I start becoming hysterical but Ashton pulls me close, hugging me, "He's going to be okay, Saphy. He has to be." I cry into his chest while he tries to comfort me but it doesn't help.
2 hours later
I stare at the blank television screen, my knees drawn up to my chest as Tiana brings me a piece of pizza, "You need to eat, Sapphire." I shake my head but she waves it under my nose, "It's your favorite; supreme with extra green peppers." I shake my head again so she just sets it on the coffee table, sitting down beside me, "I know you're hurting, Sapphire, but Thomas wouldn't want you to starve yourself. When he wakes up, he's going to kill us for not keeping you healthy." I smile and reach forward to grab the plate, taking a bite of the pizza. "There's my Saph." I finish the slice then ask, "Is there any more?"
"It's so weird hearing your voice." I smile, "It's nice hearing it for the first time."
"It must've sucked, not having a voice for most of your life."
"It sucked when I wanted to argue for myself. I hated having other people fight for me or having no one to help. It wasn't fun being mute." She rubs my shoulder than Ash comes out of the kitchen, picking Tiana up then setting her on his lap when he sits down again. I look at my empty plate then get up from the couch, "I'm going to get some air."
"I'll come with you," Tiana says. "By myself," I snap. I walk outside and shut the door before I start crying. I start crying for my mom, my dad, my screwed up life and for Thomas. "Are you alright?" I look to my right and a woman who can't be older than 20 is standing on the patio, carrying a little girl. "I'm fine."
"I'm Reyna and this is my daughter, Amy." I smile, "I'm Sapphire, nice to meet you."
"So you're the famous Sapphire." I raise an eyebrow then she smirks, "I'm Thomas's cousin. They told me that our little Tommy found his mate."
"How old is Amy," I ask, wanting to change the subject.
"She's 1. She's a sweetheart when she's awake, you'd like her." As if she heard her mom, Amy's eyes slowly open and I smile. She smiles back then tugs on her mom's shirt, reaching for me. "Do you want to hold her," Reyna asks. I nod then she passes Amy to me. The little girl giggles then starts playing with my hair; the back door slides open then I hear Thomas' other grandma, Hannah, say, "Reyna, Sapphire, come inside." I nod then walk inside, still carrying Amy. "Saph, he's going to be alright," Alex tells me. I smile, "Can I see him?"
"Sure. Let me take her." I pass Amy to Alex then walk down the hall to Thomas' room. I open the door and he's lying there with a tube going into his arm, a bag of blood hanging above him. I sit down beside him, grabbing his hand, "Thomas, I know you're here. I know you can hear me, I finally found my voice. I need you to wake up so you can say some incredibly dorky thing and I can finally say something back. I need you to open your eyes for me and for your family. I can't lose you, please come back to me."
Thomas
"I can't lose you, please come back to me." I'm trying to baby, I'm trying but it's hard. I can't open my eyes even though I'm trying so hard. I'll be back soon, angel. I love you.
