Chapter VII- Mock Exams

Fast Forward

Two months before the real deal, the review center conducted a mock board exam to see the student's capacity in answering the probable board exam questions.

5:15am

Sitting at the dorm's lounge area, I busied myself organizing the things I needed to bring as I wait for my friends to finish their routine.

I was scrolling through my phone when Jihyo messaged me to get breakfast for myself first since they're still not done. So, I went to the canteen in our dorm and greeted the caretaker who is also the one manging the canteen as well as cooking the food.

"Hi Aunt, I'll have egg sandwich and a cup of coffee please." I said and handed her the payment.

I sat on one of the benches and enjoyed my food.

Chaeyoung:
Minari, check your belongings, okay? Don't forget anything. Especially your calculator! Hehe
Goodluck on the mock board exam, Minari! Don't be too nervous, okay? You can do it!

A smile formed on my face as I read her message. I appreciate her for messaging me early this morning since it's a weekend.

"Mina-chan~ do I look okay?" Sana spun infront of me. I almost choked on my food. This girl, really. I didn't even notice them coming here.

She continued showing her look to me. I noticed that she tucked her white polo shirt to her black skirt and her hair tied up in a bun.

I gave her a thumbs up as a sign of my approval.

We were informed that we should wear the official uniform for the exam so we can get used to it.

Momo ordered their food and we ate hurriedly.

"Okay! We're all ready! Let's get going girls. The boys are waiting downstairs." Jihyo said. I grabbed my white transparent envelope and checked the materials for the last time.

Pencil... Check

Eraser... Check

Sharpener... Check

Calculator... Check

Some chocolates... Check

I also put my phone inside after sending Chaeyoung a thank you message.

Entering the university, we saw a lot of reviewees sitting on benches and some roaming around wondering where their designated room is. Luckily, the girls and I decided to check our rooms the day before the mock board so locating it is easy for us now.

Unfortunately, I don't have any of my friends on the same room since we're arranged alphabetically. As I neared the room, I already saw poeple inside. I'm not the sociable type so I just sat on my chair to be familiar to my area.

"Hello, I'm Jaehyun. I sit behind you." A guy approached my seat and offered a handshake which I reciprocated.

"I'm Mina. Nice to meet you, Jaehyun."

"Mina, what school are you from? He asked as he sat on the seat infront of me.

"JYP University." I said and saw some of our roommates gather around me. I started to panic internally.

"Really? Well then we already have our boiler." Another guy said when he heard my school.

"Ey? No. no. I'm not that smart." I strongly disagreed to be the boiler of this room. To be the boiler means you are considered to be the smartest among the takers in that room. So, you are expected to be the one who will provide answers to the other takers. In short, it's cheating for everyone to pass and I don't want to be that person. I'm okay on my own. Plus it's risky. I don't want to be banned to take the board exams forever if ever we got caught.
