Mina's POV
It was a fine day, I went out with my colleagues for dinner. Sharing stories and snapping photos. Enjoying the ambiance that open restaurant has to offer.
When we were finished, none of us seemed to want the night to be done just yet, so, we decided to go to this nearby karaoke place and share a few drinks and sing our hearts out.
It was all fun and games until we slowly got drunk and called it a night.
9:02 pm my wristwatch reads.I walked with two of my colleagues since we shared the same place. Luckily the place was near our condo so we arrived fast.
After I shower, I got into my bed but my mind is still wide awake. Apparently, it's still thinking of a certain cub I haven't talked for weeks now.
Yes, after that encounter I can't help but choose to ignore her for the reason that I am still, yes I admit, I am still inlove with her.
Staring blankly on the ceiling, my thoughts are drowning me again. 'can someone save me?' I can't help these thought. I am lost. I wanted to forget too but everywhere I look screams the memory of her and me.
A buzz on my phone broke the negativity of my thoughts.
Sana calling...
Without thinking much, I answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Are you home now?" My best friend asked me. This girl really...
"Yes I am. I'm good, Satang" I answered assuring her.
"Still, I am worried. You know there is still curfew because of COVID, right? And here you are drinking out." She nagged at me again regretting my choice of telling her of this night out.
"I'm aware, sana~ don't worry too much. I'm home now anyways."
"Fine. But, Mina... How are you, really?" She asked carefully.
Here we go...
After I told her about Chaeyoung and how our story goes, she became very protective of me. If she talks to me often before, it doubled now.
"I'm okay, bestie. Well, I guess..."
Don't cry, don't cry...
"You're aware that I don't believe that bull, right? Be honest with me, Mina. How can I help you if you're bottling that feeling to yourself?"
Don't cry... Don--
Darn these tears...
"..."
I heard a sigh on the other line...
"Come home, Mitang. You're granted a vacation, right?"
"Hmmm.." I can't utter a word. I know if I say something she'll hear how I will choke on my words.
"Rest for tonight, Mitang. I know you're tired now. Stop crying, okay? Instead of thinking of the things you have no control, focus on those that will contribute to your happiness and growth."
"I'll be here for you all the way, bestie."
"Thank you, Sana-chan."
I can't be anymore thankful that I have a best friend like you.
10:30 pm, that night...the pillow was soaked with my tears for the last time.
