Chapter XVII- Accepting the Truth

Several weeks later...

Mina's POV

I was very excited to attend the orientation for the bus company I got hired from. After weeks of processing the needed requirements, I am now back to the company for an orientation of the rules and regulations. 

Together with two others, the HR representative briefed us the basic knowledge about the company and after that she informed us to wait for her call of when we could start working. "You are supposed to start on next Monday but there has been some conflicts going on about the recent happenings on the company. I'm sure you quite know about that already." She said. 

I nodded my head. It was not a secret that this company is still undergoing some legal actions regarding the owner's children whose thoughts doesn't seem to align with their mother. It was written on the news that two of the four siblings are not satisfied that instead of them, their uncle will be the one to become the president after their father's passing. So, their mother filed a lawsuit to restrict the two from entering the premise of the company. 

I don't really know the details as to why that happened but, yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

A week after that, I prepared for our oath taking for passing the board exams. It was a happy moment. I saw my friends again and I'm happy that all of us passed the board exams together. 

As I enter the place, I haven't seen any of my friends. "Of course, they'll be late." I said and chuckled. They will never change. I roamed my eyes around and saw familiar faces and some other schoolmates too. I recognized and gave them a small smile until mom dragged me to take pictures after she finished her business in the comfort room.

"Honey, let's take a photo there." She said and pointed to the photo corner where a lot of people lined up to wait for their turn too. "Sure, mom." I said and smiled at her. She and my father went with me, so, I took pictures together with them and afterwards, I saw Sana entered the hall.

"Hey, Sana!" I waved at her and she smiled after seeing me. "Minari!" She said and walked towards my direction. "Wow, you look stunning." She said after eyeing me from head to toe. "Thanks, you too. Where's your parents?" I asked. "Oh, outside, they're parking the car." She said and then I dragged her to the seat I let my parents sat. 

"I think Jihyo and Momo are coming together." She said as she showed me her phone where a conversation of her and Jihyo can be seen. I only nodded my head and soon after we were all complete.

I took a snap of the center stage where "OATH TAKING CEREMONY FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERS" is written. I posted it on IG and soon after some friends congratulated me. I said my thanks and kept my phone on the clutch bag I brought.

I was happily talking to Jihyo's younger sister when I felt my phone vibrated. I took it and looked at the message I received.  It was from Chaeyoung. A simple "congrats" was written and I said my thanks too.

An hour later...

As I received my pin, I took a picture of it and sent it to her. "I'm already an engineer now, Chaeng! I just wanted to thank you for being with me during those times and for being one of the reasons why I didn't gave up even though it was really hard at times. Thank you for putting up with me during that time." I sent her that message. 

After quite some time, she replied, "Thank you too, for appreciating me even though I didn't do much to help you. You deserve that, Mina. You worked hard for that too. Congratulations." I smiled as I read her message.
