Chapter I- Writer's Pen

Today was a surprise day in one of our major subjects. I finished the quiz early so I went to the lounge to sit and to wait for Sana and Momo to finish theirs too and also for Jihyo who was still in her class. Sana and Momo are both my classmates since freshman year while Jihyo is one of my best friend since high school. I'm grateful to them for they were the ones who helped me got back on my feet when I was so damn down on my studies and on what had happened four years ago.

My friends and I are in our graduating year in college under Mechanical Engineering. Jihyo is in another section while the three of us are the same. You see, it took us six years to finally finish this course. Technically, we've graduated from a three-year course on mechanical technology and decided to pursue engineering. That's why it took us that long but it's worth it. We're finally going to graduate.

The bell rang and I cannot wait to eat lunch since I haven't had breakfast today. My stomach was grumbling when I heard Jihyo calling my name from afar.

"Myoui Mina!" I looked up to see her coming on my way. I smiled and waved at her.

"Where's Sana and Momo?" Jihyo asked.

"Oh, they're still in the room, finishing up the quiz our professor gave to us. Luckily I managed to review so I finished early." I said as I scratched my nape.

"Oooh~ Isn't our penguin a smart ass?~" I hurriedly wave my hands signaling no to her. "It's not like that, Ji." Jihyo and I laughed.

"Well, let's just wait for those two. Anyway, I have some k-dramas here. Do you want me to send you one?" She said giggling.

"Hi girls~" we heard Sana said as she and Momo approached us in the lounge. "Let's go grab lunch. Mr. Tuan drained my brain making me hungry with that surprise quiz he gave." Momo said defeated.

6:00 pm at Mina's Home

I was lying in bed reading stories from an online app called writer's pen. This app is my go-to app if I don't have much to study for school. Well, if it's not clear enough, I'm an introvert and I love reading and this app is perfect for my alone time. I've read from different apps but this one is probably by far, my favorite. The books here are simple but are undeniably entertaining. I also like the authors in this app since majority of them are friendly to their readers. I like reading their interactions with their readers and It makes me want to be like them too.

My friends told me I should try writing so that I can be distracted and it can be a way to vent out whatever ideas or feelings I have in my head and in my body. I remembered one time when Jihyo suggested to share my talent and to do something I love, which is basically reading and writing stuffs.

The first time I started my own book on writer's pen was exciting yet difficult since I got little background on story writing. After reading several books, I somehow already got ideas on how to write my own story on writer's pen. The first time, it made me happy when I started plotting and making my own characters. It's quite challenging at first but it was manageable. I also tried to make my own book cover which is a first time too but I think it wasn't that bad so I uploaded it. I uploaded the book once in a while and if I'm in the mood , I update little by little. For now, I'm just reading random works since I got nothing in mind for the next scenes.

Every time someone votes or give my book a read, I manage to thank them through personal messages. I'm just happy on how my book turned out little by little even though it's just a hundred reads for now. Just as long as someone is reading my work it was so fulfilling for me because as what Jihyo have said, I shouldn't mind the reads. It made me happy every time someone appreciates my work.
