THE OPPOSITE (Are we?)

Chapter 17

Kristin stared at someone in particular and tears filled her eyes.  Amanda ran to her side and took Kristin's cold hands. It was  her mother's best friend.

" its okay Kristin, you are safe now I promise " Amanda reassured her.

" what happened? " Kristin asked cleaning her tears.

" the kids found you at home and brought you here, its okay "

" thank you " she whispered.

" the Doctor said you can be discharged after three days and you can go home "

Kristin forced a nod, thinking about returning home.
As if on clue, Amanda rubbed Kristin's arm " you will be living with us now Kristin, Peter is behind bars"

Kristin did not know what to feel, happy or sad?  She saw Jessica giving her a small smile.
" thanks " she said

" you are family now " Amanda said.

" glad to have you back ".  Said Jessica with joy.

The officer in charge of her case got Kristin's statement and she told them how her dad had been abusing her since the death of her mother.

Her room door burst opened and the guys pulled in after the other with large flowers in their hands. Well that's Troy and Rand.
" easy guys " Jessica warned

"KRISTIN! " cried Troy and Rand hugging  her, Quinn pulled them back not to cause Kristin more pain with their tight hugs.

" I missed you alot" Troy said sitting on her bed beside her, Rand stood beside her, Quinn sat on the one sofa there while Jessica took the chair, Jess stood beside the window looking out.

" yes, I couldn't eat " Rand agreed with Troy.

" Rand? " questioned Quinn

" well,  I ate, but not that much " Rand confessed.

Kristin laughed, smelling the flowers " thanks guys"

' anything for you princess " bowed Troy.

" how are you feeling?" Jess asked her from where he was standing.

Kristin looked down at her laps " fine,  just a little pain from my back "

" we are here for you okay? " Rand told her

Jessica and Troy nodded at her and she gave them a smile in appreciation.

Kristin was discharged the next day and was taken home, Jessica showed her her new room and she loved it, she could walked by herself. Unlike when Amanda had to help her.
  Since Amanda was her new guardian, Kristin tried to fit in their lifestyle.  She had a week off school to regain back her lost strength, she would hang out with the guys after school, and sometimes they bring her notes and assignment to cover.
" I have a surprise for you " Rand said one afternoon, they were in the sitting room except from Jess. Kristin looked up from her book to Rand, she was sitting on the threeseater.

" you don't look surprised " Rand pout still hiding his hands at his back.

" what's your surprise? " Jessica asked him instead
" this " he held out Kristin's phone.

Silence

" oh my! " screamed Kristin jumping on Rand and hugging him " my phone, my baby! " she cried both in joy and pain.

" wow, quite a surprise " muttered Quinn

" you got what you wanted, Reaction " Troy said

Rand got out of Kristin's hold " are you okay? "

" yes, yes, just a little pain " she went back to her seat checking her cellphone.

Jessica laughed " wow "

" thanks so much Rand " Kristin said checking her charged phone. She had a lot of calls from Jessica and her online friend and messages.
" I miss my baby "

" who can tell you have this side in you " Troy smirked, Kristin blushed looking back to her book and building up that shield of hers again.

The next Monday, Kristin was ready for school, she joined the Williams for breakfast, taking her usual seat beside Jess facing Jessica was was beside her mother. Mr Williams was at the head of the table.
  Amanda served the meal and sat beside Jessica facing Jess.
" morning " Kristin greeted

" hiya, happy? " Jessica asked

" yep"
" Jess will be driving you two to school " Mr Williams said.

" Dad I think its time I got my own car "
" no, can you drive Kristin? "

" no "

" so no Jessica "

" dad,  sometimes, Kristin and I can decide to go girly shopping " whined Jessica.

" Jess will drive you "
" dad! " cried Jessica

" baby! "

Amanda laughed while Kristin smiled and Jess just looked... Well like Jess Williams.

" I think it will be a great idea for her to have her own car" Jess said.

" thanks bro" Jessica gave him a smile and he rolled his eyes.

" no, not now though " Mr Williams smirked at his daughter.

" baby " Amanda smacked her husband's hand.

Jess drove them to school and everyone stared at them when they got to the parking lot.
" you will come for  lunch right? " Jessica asked Kristin.

" y... Yes, see you " Kristin quickly walked away.

During lunch Troy bought Kristin lunch and she ate little while Rand finished the rest.
Kristin phone rang from her pocket, she brought it out and saw it was her friend, since she couldn't reply his messages at least she could pick his call for once.
" you are smiling at your phone again " noted Jessica to Jess.

" huh? " he put his phone away eating.

" why didn't you pick up " Rand poke Kristin's cheeks

" stop it Rand " she said sternly and troy messed up her hair.

" Troy! " she yelled in annoyance, hitting Troy repeatedly.

Jessica  and Rand were laughing at Kristin's killer expression while Quinn chuckled at them, Jess just shock his head.

" next time you mess with my  hair, I won't be responsible for my actions " Kristin warned Troy leaving for the rest room.
She went to fix her hair and coming out she was surrounded by the chicks, oh!  Not today.
" what exactly are you trying to prove with the Williams, don't you know you don't belong? " Lucy asked her

" you whore ".

A hand was coming down at her and she shield her face but nothing happened.

" back off Lucy, all of you, lay a finger on her and you will hate yourselves " a voice said.

They turned to see Quinn
" what....? " Lucy was  shocked.

" you heard him right " Jess snarled at them.

Kristin was surprised to see the guys standing up for her.
" we... "

" get lost " Rand told them. The chicks left embarrassed.

" we got worried  when you were taking too long " Jessica explained

" am okay " Kristin assured them.
" your problem our problem "

Troy said pulling Kristin away to their next class.
