Mrs. Williams stared down at her friend on her dying bed, Betty Morgan. How could she let it come to this?
Betty lawyer was there also along with Betty's daughter Kristin, who was 12 years old. “Amanda” Betty said “am leaving Kristin into your care help me take care of her”.
"But Betty, what about Peter” Peter was Betty's husband, a drunkard, who abused her whenever he got drunk.
“If it gets out of hand, I want you to take control” Betty said weakly.
She knows Peter was abusive and now that Betty is at her death point, he would abuse Kristin. Amanda promised she will do everything in her care to help her friend's daughter
“Write it down in my name”  Betty told her lawyer “that’s my last wish, Kristin?”
Kristin held her mothers hands “I love you darling”
“I love you too mom, but you're sick”
“Don’t worry about me, Amanda here will help us OK?”  Kristin nodded looking up at Amanda
“I promise to do all in my care Betty”.

Days later Amanda attended her friend's burial and when she later went to check on Kristin she couldn’t find her not even Peter the little apartment was empty.
That means Peter ran away, so that he could keep Kristin.
It has been a year now and Amanda Williams have no idea where Kristin is.
How is she going to take care of her when she can’t even find the child.
