THE OPPOSITE (Are we?)

Chapter 16

After a quick check up, Mrs Williams was a match and they waited for the Doctor to give them the end result.
  The Doctor attending to Kristin finally came out, he recognized the Williams, but he dont know how they were related to his patient.

" how is she? " Jessica was the first to ask.

" well, fine " the Doctor said " can I talk to the adult please? "

" of course " Mr Williams answered and he followed the Doctor to his office with his wife.

They sat facing the Doctor.
" so, how are you related to my patient? "

" she is friends with our kids" Mr Williams answered.

The Doctor nodded " according to what we saw on her, she is been abused, there are fresh wounds on her, she lost a lot of blood from the fresh one made by a hot iron "

The Williams shared a look,  " hot iron? " Mrs Williams asked in shock " who could be so heartless? "

" hope she is doing well? " Mr Williams asked.

" she is responding to treatment for now and we pray she keeps it up, in no time she will be up again "

" are you sure? " demanded Mrs Williams

" yes, she is a fighter " the Doctor smiled.

" thanks Doctor, I will inform the cops about her case, and please no one is allowed to see her except for us, we wouldn't want her abuser to get back to her " Mr Williams said.

" no problem "

" we will settle the bills down stairs " with that said they left the Doctor's office to the waiting area.

Quinn and Rand had gone home since it was late and Troy was just leaving.

" kids, you need  to rest " Mr Williams said joining them.

" not until I see her " Jessica said her voice sour from all her crying.

" I'll see if we can see her " Mrs Williams said leaving to talk to a nurse.

" see you tomorrow guys " Troy left. Mrs Williams came back with a nurse that led them to Kristin's room.  She was in a private room.
Kristin was laying on her chest in other for her wound to heal well, Mrs Williams gasped when she saw Kristin's face.

" mom? "

Her husband caught her before she could fall " what's wrong? "

" its her " she pointed to Kristin  " I failed her " she cried.

" what are you talking about mom? " Jess asked

" she's Betty's daughter " she managed to say and her husband understood her dilemma.

Mrs Williams explained everything to her family when they got home.

" so what now " Jessica asked

" that asshole must pay for what he did " Amanda said angrily

" language!  Buy you are right, the cops are working on it " Mr Williams assured his wife. " let's rest tomorrow is going to be a long day ".

The next day, Peter Morgan was arrested. Their statement was taken but the vitcm was yet to wake.
  Jessica decorated Kristin hospital room with fresh flowers brought by Rand and Troy, Quinn only got a'get well soon card '.
  At the Williams home, Mrs Williams and Jessica decorated a room for Kristin, arranging het things for her, she will be staying with the Williams since Amanda was her  guardian.
   Days later, the Doctor told them that Kristin could wake up at anytime and they were all glad.

  Jessica and Rand were playing a random game one Saturday afternoon in Kristin room. Troy was dozing off on the chair he was and no one noticed the monitor connected to Kristin going down.
  Quinn came into the room and ran out leaving the others to wonder.

" the heartbeat! " cried Jessica.

Before anything else the Doctor and nurses filled the room and they were told to wait outside.
Mrs Williams was informed and she rushed over leaving what she was doing at home.

" what happened? " she asked scared.

" its OK, its a change in her heartbeat " a nurse informed them

The Doctor came out to them and told them not to worry., " she is struggling to survive, she really is a fighter "

" are you sure there is no problem? " Mrs Williams asked

" yes ma " the Doctor left them.

" and we did not even noticed " Jessica weeped

" Jessica, its not your fault " Quinn hugged her.

" who's up for ice cream? " demanded Rand.

Jessica glared at him but smiled.
" I think I want it " Mrs Williams said.

Kristin opened her eyes slowly adjusting to the bright light in the room, the first thing that reached her was hospital smell telling her about her surroundings meaning she was still alive.
  Another smell reached her, it was fresh flowers, she looked around and her gaze landed on two people staring her in surprise.

" Kris! " Jessica called attacking her with a tight hug.
She flinched in pain and Jessica pulled away with a small sorry.

" water please " Jess who was close to the water gave her some in a glass cup.

" I will go get the Doctor " Jess left.

Kristin took two slip from the water " what happened? "

" get better before worrying " laughed Jessica.  The Doctor came to check up on Kristin and he  was happy to finally see her awake.

" nice to have you back " he shook her hand and left so that the nurse can change her bandage round her body.
After that she took her glass of water.

" so glad, you are up " smiled Jessica. " me too" smiled Kristin wondering how she ended up here and with the Williams.

  The door opened and someone came in, Kristin gasped losing her hold on the cup.  It fell and broke the silent in the room, Jessica turned to see what caused such a reaction from Kristin and she was surprised.
