∞ Motel room, Later ∞

"So Roy really believes" said Sam who was sitting on his bed.

" I don't think he has any idea what his wife's doing" said Dean as he leaned on a table

Ethan got up from his bed and pulled something out of his pocket, "Well, we did find this" he handed it to Dean.

" It was hidden in their Library. It's ancient. Written by a priest who went dark side. There's a binding spell in there for trapping a reaper" explained Sam.

" Must be a hell of a spell" said Dean

"Yeah. You gotta build a black alter with seriously dark stuff. Bones, human blood. " said Sam

" To cross a line like that, man, a preachers wife too" commented Ethan

" Black magic. Murder. Evil" added Sam

" Desperate. Her husband was dying, she didn't have anything to save him. She was using the binding spell to keep the reaper away from Roy" explained Dean

" Cheating death, literally" commented Sam

"That's actually sad, but, Roy's alive she doesn't need that spell anymore" pointed Ethan out

" Yeah, why is she still using the spell? " asked Dean

" Right. To force the reaper to kill people she thinks are immoral" reasoned Sam

" May God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work" said Dean as he opened the book

" We gotta break that binding spell Dean" said Sam

" Or else someone else's gonna die" pointed Ethan out

" You know Sue Ann had a cross like this. " He showed the two a page with a picture of a cross "When she dropped it, the reaper backed off"

"So, you think we gotta find the cross? or destroy the alter? "

" Or both" added Ethan

" Whatever we do we better do it soon, or he's healing Layla tonight. "

∞ Later that night ∞

Dean parked a few blocks away from Roy's house.

"That's Layla's car" pointed Sam out "She's already here"

" Yeah" nodded Dean sadly

" Dean..." said Sam

"You know if Roy woulda picked Layla instead of me she'd be here right. And if she's not healed tonight she's gonna die in a coupla months" explained Dean

" You're being really selfless and selfish y'know" pointed Ethan out. Dean sighed and looked out of the window. " Look, what's happening to her is really horrible. But what are you gonna do about it? Will you let somebody die to save her? You said it yourself Dean, you can't play God" explained Ethan.

Dean didn't say anything and just went out of the car, Sam and Ethan exchanged a look before following him.

The walked towards the tent and peeked inside, they saw Roy talking to a small group of people, including Layla and her mother.

"Gather round, please everyone, gather round. Come in closer, come on up" they heard Roy said.

Dean looked around, " Where's Sue Ann?"

" House" said Sam

They walked up to the house, and hid behind a tall shrub as they saw the cops from earlier patrolling around, coffee in hand
