∞ Guenther's Auto Repair, Day ∞
The Winchesters were currently talking to the owner of the garage
"So you and John Winchester, you used to own this garage together?" Dean asked
"Yeah, we used to, a long time ago. Matter of fact, it must be, uh... Twenty years since John disappeared. So why the cops interested all of a sudden? " The owner asked
" Oh, we're reopening some of our unsolved cases, and the Winchester disappearance is one 'em"
"Oh, well, what do you wanna know about John?"
" Well, whatever you remember, you know, whatever sticks out your mind"
" Like his personality, for example" Ethan added
" Well... he was a stubborn bastard, I remember that" the owner laughed "And, uh, whatever the game, he hated to lose, you know? It's the whole Marine thing" the three nodded. " But, oh, he sure loved Mary. And he doted on those kids" he added
" But that was before the fire? " Sam asked
" That's right"
" He ever talk about that night? "
" No, not at first. I think he was in shock"
" Yeah, But eventually? Did he say anything about it? " Ethan asked
" Oh, yeah he did. He wasn't thinkin' straight though. He said somethin' caused that fire and killed Mary"
" He ever say what did it? " Dean asked
"Nothin' did it. It was an accident—an electrical short in the ceiling or walls or somethin'. I begged him to get some help, but... " the owner trailed off
" But what? " Dean asked
" Oh, he just got worse and worse"
" How?" Ethan asked
" Oh, he started readin' these strange ol' books. He started goin' to see this palm reader in town"
" Palm reader? Uh, do you have a name?" Dean asked
The owner scoffed " No"
∞ Later ∞
The Impala was parked by a payphone, where Sam was looking through a phonebook
"All right, so there are a few psychics and palm readers in town" Sam announced. Ethan looked at him through the rear view mirror. "There's someone named El Divino. There's, uh" Sam laughed " there's the Mysterious Mister Fortinsky"
"Mysterious Mister Fortinsky" Ethan laughed
"There's more, uh, Missouri Moseley—"
Dean cut Sam off, "Wait, wait. Missouri Moseley?"
"What?" Sam asked
"That's a psychic?"
"Uh, yeah. Yeah, I guess so"
"Ethan, the journal" Dean said
Ethan searched through Dean's duffel bag for the journal, "here" he passed it to Dean.
"In Dad's journal... Here, look at this" he opened the first page as Ethan leaned on the front seat and looked at the journal. "First page, first sentence, read that"
"I went to Missouri and i learned the truth" Sam and Ethan read aloud
Dean shrugged, " i always thought he meant the state"
∞ Missouri's House ∞
Missouri, a black, curled short haird, woman was escorting a man out of the house as Sam, Ethan and Dean waited on the couch.
