∞ Motel Room, night∞

Dean's phone, that was on his nightstand, rang. That woke up Sam.

"Dean" Sam called. Dean didn't wake up so Sam reached for his phone. He answered it, "Hello?"

"Sam, is that you?" A man's voice asked from the phone

"Dad?" Sam sat up "Are you hurt?" Sam asked

Hearing this, Ethan turned over and looked at Sam with tired eyes.

"I'm fine" John said

"We've been looking for you everywhere. We didn't know where you were, if you were okay" Sam said

" Sammy, I'm alright. What about you, Ethan and Dean?" John asked

Dean stirred awake.

" Is that... " Ethan trailed off as he sat up.

Sam looked at him and nodded. "We're fine. Dad, where are you?". Dean sat up.

"Sorry, kiddo, I can't tell you that" John said

" What? why not?"

" Is that Dad?" Dean asked.

Ethan nodded at him

"Look, I know this is hard for you to understand. You're just gonna have to trust me on this" John explained

" You're after it, aren't you? The thing that killed Mom" Sam guessed

" Yeah. it's a demon, Sam" John confirmed

" A demon? You know for sure?" Sam asked

" A demon?" Ethan asked

" What's he saying?" Dean asked

"I do." John answered Sam, " Listen, Sammy, I, uh...I also know what happened to your girlfriend. I'm so sorry. I should've told Ethan what his job was...I would've done anything to protect you from that"

" You know where it is?" Sam asked

" Yeah, I think I'm finally closing on it" John said

" Let us help" Sam offered

" You can't. You can't be any part of it"

" Why not?"

" Give me the phone" Dean demanded

" Listen, Sammy, that's why I'm calling. You and your brothers, you gotta stop looking for me. Alright, now, I need you to write down these names" John instructed

" Names? What names, Dad—talk to me, tell me what's going on" Sam said

" Look, we don't have time for this. This is bigger than you think, they're everywhere. Even us talking right now, it's not safe"

" No. Alright? No way"

" Give me the phone" Dean demanded a little louder.

" I have given you an order. Now, you stop following me, and you do your job. You understand me? Now, take down these names" John ordered.

Dean grabbed the phone from Sam, "Dad, it's me. Where are you?"

Ethan looked at Sam. Sam looked down, deep in thought.

"Yes, sir." Dean said "Uh, yeah, I got a pen. What are their names?"

Once Dean finished writing he gave the phone to Ethan, "Dad wants to talk to you".

Ethan grabbed it, " Yeah? ... Of course, sir ... "He  looked at Sam, who was still deep in thought, and Dean, who was packing his things." I will" he assured.
