IMPERIAL CONSORT VIRTRA'S POV

The next morning, Elpis decided to follow the king to his court instead of going sightseeing with her cousins and the rest of us. Grace decided to stay inside the palace because she wishes to learn how to read braille. She was excited to know that the Altus royal nanny was once a splendid braille teacher.

"Sister Virtra, why did you suggested that we should visit the training ground instead of the town? What do you wish to gain from visiting the place where the soldiers of this kingdom trained? At least if we went to the town, we get to see how they trade and what kind of things they sell in the market. I thought one of the reasons why we're here is to establish a business connection." Bella seemed to be thinking about what exactly was happening in front of her.

But for me, I would like to think far ahead in the future.

"I would like to see how advance they are compared with the imperial guards. It's a different thing if we compare them with the Black Knight, but the imperial guards aren't simply just for show. I want to see how did they manage to be the second-best when it comes to strength." After i said that, the first prince and the third princess walked down the stairs with their maids.

"We apologized for the delay. It turns out that only my little sister and I have the time to show you all around. Is everyone here?" The first prince looked around.

"Yes. Consort Elena, Margaux, and noble consort Grace decided to stay in the palace. They wish to learn how to read braille from the royal nanny." The first prince nodded.

"I see. Your highness, is it true that you wish to visit the training ground?" I nodded. Why? Is it forbidden for outsiders to looked at how they trained their soldiers?

"Very well. Follow me. We have prepared a few carriages for this trip." I let the first prince and the third princess show us the way. But, is it just me, or it seems that the third princess has been staring at us from head to toe?

"There is no need for the imperial guards to follow us. Altus is the safest kingdom in the world. Once they saw our crest, they wouldn't dare to oppose the royal family." This first prince is too naive.

If only he experienced how many times our trusted ministers and even servants have betrayed Elpis and me, he wouldn't be this confident.

"But your majesty, it's our duty to protect the concubines of emp-," I glared at the captain of the imperial guards. He shouldn't address Elpis as the empress in public. That's one of the laws when it comes to serving the people from Galatea!

The imperial guards kneel as they realized they almost said something they shouldn't.

"Wow! You have to teach me how to do that, dear cousin in law. Even though it's my right to be the next king, none of the soldiers ever see me as one. They all wish that my second brother to be the next heir instead because he is more knowledgeable in terms of military tactics and strength. The only strength I have is this brain of mine. For them, it's not enough. I have no talent nor skills when it comes to wielding a sword." The third princess suddenly chuckled.

"My brother can't even pick up a bow. How do you expect him to wield a sword?" That is the first time I witness the third princess smile like that since we arrived at this kingdom.

"Ugh, sister! Don't say that to the princess general wife!" If I recall correctly, he is a fan of Elpis.

"As a ruler, the knowledge of military tactics can only be considered as a merit point. But to be a real ruler, you need a vast knowledge about the world so history won't repeat itself. You can take Elpis as an example. She's an exemplary military general and also a talented politician and merchant. If you truly wish to make this kingdom as prosperous as it can be, you need to start reading and studying the right books." The first prince listened to me.
