THIRD PERSON POV

"Why are we at the royal temple? I thought we're waiting for the Ruvaria's former ruler." Elpis was confused when the king and queen brought her and her concubines to the temple instead.

"Because your grandparents will never use the front entrance. They will come through the temple." Elpis was more confused than ever.

"I know how you feel. I was as confused as you were when Eudora told me about their method of transportation." The king patted my shoulder.

"They're here." As soon as Eudora said that, something caught Elpis's attention. The king and queen kneel on the floor upon seeing this light.

"It's understandable that Elpis wouldn't kneel upon seeing us. But you all. I don't see why you wouldn't kneel when seeing your grandparents." An older man with a magnificent body build suddenly appeared from the light. He's proud and confident when he faces everyone in the temple.

"Hush! They're our grandchildren. Don't be so judgemental." Elpis and her concubines were at awe at the beauty who stood beside the older man.

"Wait, are you supposed to be our grandmother?!" Elpis asked while pointing at her.

"Yes! Why?" The woman smiled.

"You look so young! Is this a joke? And how did you guys made the blinding light disappear? This whole situation is outrageous." The older man from before stand in between Elpis and the beautiful woman.

"No, this is not a joke. This woman is the one who gave birth to your mother and Eudora. Now you know why I forbid anyone to know the truth." The man's wife placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Please forgive your grandfather. He's overly protective and sometimes it just kind of overbearing. I know that you have a lot of questions for us. But first, let me look at you." As the woman reached out to touch Elpis'a shoulder, something caught her attention.

"Oh, dear. What kind of hardship have you gone through? The energy that resonates from you kind of reminded me of someone who is cursed. Look at that dark aura." Elpis took a step back.

"Your grandmother only wants to help you. Don't be afraid of her. It's normal for a goddess to see things like this from someone who hasn't accepted her divine power." The older man explained. Elpis was speechless.

"A goddess? Divine power? What is going on? Is this some kind of a joke?" The older man snapped his fingers and forcefully made Elpis kneel in front of him.

"Your grandmother gave me this power known as complete obedience. She gave her first daughter, your mother; the power to oversee the future while she gave her second daughter, your aunt; unimaginable strength. She hasn't bestowed any of our grandchildren with the power she possessed yet because we just don't see the reason for it to happen at all." He suddenly faces Eudora's children.

"The first prince is a scaredy-cat. The second prince thinks he's a military genius but never had any experience in war. The third prince doesn't even care about the kingdom, and all he cares about is his love life. The first princess is arrogant. The second princess thinks she's a scholar, but she doesn't even know half of the history of Altus and last but not least, the third princess who wanted to kill herself. Tell me, how are we supposed to give such divine power to people like them?" The older man turned back to Elpis.

"Except for you. You're different than your cousins. That is why we're considering giving you the divine power." Elpis didn't react at all.

"What my husband trying to say was he thinks you have the potential to receive this power we are mentioning. So, what do you think, Elpis? Will you accept our offer?" Virtra decided to take the lead when she noticed Elpis doesn't react much.
