chapter thirty: my paradise

***

The grass is warm underneath my hands and the sun is shining down on me, warming my face.

The air smells like a newly moaned meadow mixed with rain and a rosy smell. It feels like something right out of a fairy tale. Something happy. Something perfect.

Carly is laying next to me on the huge Lacrosse field. Our hands are locked and from time to time we share a happy smile but we mostly look into the sky and enjoy the moment as it is.

"It's beautiful," Carly says after a few minutes in a hushed voice and I can feel her look on my face.

"It is," I agree before I turn my head and look at her.

Her eyes are glowing with happiness and the sparkle they have in them that appeared a few weeks ago hasn't left them in the time till now. She is unbelievably happy and I can't complain, because I feel the same.

I'm happy, because of everything that happened.

She lifts up one hand and strokes a strand of hair out of my face smiling like she won a prize in some lottery. Even though I'm sure that I got more of a bigger prize; being in a relationship with the most wonderful person in the whole world.

"You are so beautiful," she mumbles and her eyes scan my face with loving looks and I can feel them as if she traces my face with her fingers.

"You are too," I smile and rub circles in the back of her hand.

Carly blushes and looks down to our hands before she brings them to her face. She kisses the back of mine and holds it against her warm face.

"I love you," she whispers and looks at me again. The butterflies go crazy again like they still do whenever Carly is by my side and tells me that I'm the best thing that ever happened to her.

It's the first time she actually says the three words directly. Sometimes she tells the stupid guys who say that she just likes girls because she hasn't found the right guy yet that she is happy with me and loves me, but she never said what everyone always hears in the movies. She never said 'I love you' to my face and the look in her eyes makes it even better.

At first I don't know what I should say but I remember that Carly loves to use the phrase 'show don't tell' and even though it is some writer thing I don't tell her that I love her as well but show her.

She smiles against my lips when they meet and as always the world goes upside down.

It feels a bit weird laying on the grass and kissing her but it doesn't matter to neither of us and when we part after a few seconds I manage to get the courage I need. "I love you too."

Carly gives me one of those small and shy smile I love she never did before we got together but now I can't live without them. Just like I can't live without her.

"There you two are," Hotarus voice makes both me and Carly jump and we have to laugh about it immediately.

She is running towards us, followed by Marcus looking a bit different with the blue colour of his hair which is really new and the first thing that jumps to your eye whenever you see him.

Hotaru slows down when she is halfway across the Lacrosse field so Marcus can catch up and the finish their walk towards us hand in hand looking happier then anyone else I have ever seen.

"Hi guys," Carly smiles and watches them as they sit down next to us.

"Did I just scare you?," Hotaru wants to know, because she saw how we jumped. Carly doesn't answer and I do neither, instead we just start to laugh again.

Hotaru rolls her eyes and joins in on the laughter while Marcus just watches us with the smile of a grateful friend.

We sit together and talk for a while until the sun goes down and all of us smell the rain laying the air. Then we decide to head to Nova's. So we walk off the Lacrosse field holding each others hands, laughing and joking about the most stupid stuff and I'm happy. Unbelievably happy.

Happy that in the end Clearwater got what he deserved.

Happy that Hotaru still looks completely in love with Marcus and he does too.

Happy that Daphne gets assuring words and looks from all sides everyday.

Happy that everything is great and just perfect.

In the end I live in my perfect paradise and no one will take it from me.

Sadly everything has to come to an end and we can't change that... But we can change the way it comes to an end...

I'm nearly crying right now... It's the first time I have ever finished a book and I have to say that I don't actually know what to do right now, because normally there are only unfinished things laying in my closet and now there's a frigging finished book between all this stuff... dang we have come far...

Well, thank all of you for being here then... It's great to have you guys by my side even though we don't know each other but it feels really special to know that some people actually enjoy something coming from my mind... ♥

I do way to much of these A/N stuff, don't I?

Therefore I am going to shut up and I hope we'll see each other again next year when we are most likely going into space. So if you want to have some fun flying around without gravity then come back to next years pride book. But for now goodbye♥

See you in one year on the other side of the rainbow (and in space)

xoxo
