XXI.

chapter twenty-one: cherry red

Carly is sitting underneath the same tree she always does and again is writing in her little booklet. She only sees me when I'm nearly directly in front of her.

"You're early," she grins and I sit down next to her.

"Better early than too late," I conter and she hugs me with a laugh. Then she hands me the booklet and I look at her confused. "I'm done with the layout," she explains, "You can read it and tell me what you like and what you don't."

"Wow, thanks," I say and switch into a sarcastic voice, "what an honor."

"Oh shut up Auden," Carly grins and attempts to take the booklet away from me but I pull it away. We joke around for a few minutes until Hotaru appears in the entrance of the park, together with Marcus and the two of them stop next to us the second we were suppose to meet.

"Are we on time?," Hotaru asks when she sees Carly checking the time on her phone.

"You have come in exactly the right second," she tells and shows them the clock.

"We're good," Marcus marks and grins.

"I'm good," Hotaru corrects him, "You would have forgotten about it if I hadn't been there."

"Really? Normally you're the one who is late," I joke and get a killing look from Hotaru which makes all of us laugh.

"Okay, enough making fun of me," she sighs as she sits down besides Carly and me, "There has to be reason for the meeting, Auden." She knowingly grins at me and I roll my eyes on her.

"Right," Carly agrees with a lot of interest, "You said you would tell me when you're here." She really wants to know what the purpose of this meeting is, I can tell it by the look in her eyes.

"So...," I start but make a little break before I seem to change my mind, "Nah, it isn't that interesting after all." I have to force myself to not laugh at Carlys and Marcus dissapointed faces. Hotaru seems to not have told him about it after all.

"What do you mean?," Carly asks in disbelief, "You are not going to tell me what I have been escited about for the last hour?" I'm sure that she can see the laughter building up inside of me by now because of the change in her face. "Are you serious?," she sighs and rubs over her eyes with her index and ring finger.

"No, I'm actually very Remus but thanks for asking," I'm able to say before I have to laugh.

"Dude, that's the worst Harry Potter joke I've ever heard," Marcus poinst out but I can see that he has to hold back a laugh. Carly now looks really dissapointed again because she probably thinks the same as Marcus does but to be honest. Who could have resisted the chance of making a Harry Potter related joke?

"Okay, okay," I giggle, "I solemly swear to no longer disrespect deer Remus Lupin." Now Marcus bursts out laughing as well and Carly has to grin. Hotaru is shaking her head, because she has always been annoyed when I came up with stupid jokes just like this one.

"If you're done with having your funny moment maybe we could get back to what you wanted to tell me," Carly calls us to stop laughing and after a few seconds we do.

"Okay," I grin and breath in for more concentration, "So. I have to sadly tell you... That Daphne is allowed to come back in the team!" Carly stares at me for a moment and I know that she thinks that I just pulled a prank on her. But when I nod and reassure her that I'm not joking she jumps up and screams in joy. Then she hugs me half standing and half sitting and thakns me over and over again for about one minute.
