<Katie's>
"You look so pretty!" I say looking at Hazel as she smooths out her dress."Thank you, you do too, I love your blue dress!" She smiles, eyeing my own dress.
It was very pretty with a sparkly, beaded top and flowy bottom which I absolutely love.
"I know, it's pretty fabulous." I smile and flip my shoulder-length curly hair out of my face as if I were a movie star.
We are in her room at the freaking huge Wayne manor, which I don't completely understand why she has a room here when she is living with her dad, but I think it has something to dow with her super hot bad boy boyfriend not wanting her to have to go home late at night.
"Bossman is pretty cool for letting you stay here." I add as I look at the huge room.
"Will you please stop calling Bruce Wayne bossman?"
"Nah, you can't tell me he doesn't secretly love the nickname. He may sigh and almost facepalm every time he hears it, but I know he loves the power that comes with the name." Plopping down on the bed, I give her a cheesy smile, "And tonight he is actually my boss."
Hazel's eyebrows draw together before a look of realization dawns on her face. "Oh, I forgot he got the cafe you work at to come and give out drinks."
"Actually... I think Tim had more to do with it than he lets on. Every time I talk about it he does that thing where his face turns red and he starts muttering and won't look me in the eyes." I mimic him and his awkward behavior causing Hazel to laugh before I smile, "Its kind of cute actually."
"Ooh, did I just hear the Katie Malone admit that a boy was cute?" She teases while digging her eyebrows.
"Yup." I state proudly. "I call it what it is, you know that, H."
She rolls her eyes at my comment before turning back to the mirror to put her earrings in.
"You know, you aren't actually working tonight, right?"
I put on a shocked face, "What? And I thought this dress was perfect for being a coffee barista!"
Hazel only sighs at my comment, but I can see the smile on her face as she says, "So, did Tim ask for you to not work?"
"No, actually. He told me that Bossman was interested so I told Derek he had to take my shift for the night and then I told Tim I would be there." I smile at the memory.
Derek has been working there for a good while now, I am sure he can handle a gala. After all, I taught him and I know I can be a pain sometimes so at least he is prepared for that.
But deep down I know that if he does need help, I will, begrudgingly, help. Besides, what neither Tim not Hazel realize is that my day off was today anyways.
"What was his response?" Hazel questions, breaking me our of my thoughts.
"I mean he seemed okay with it, he didn't call security when I knocked on the door." I shrug before standing up, seeing that Hazel was completely ready.
"You don't really pay attention to much detail do you?" She says with a small smile on her face.
I admit that has been my downfall, but you can't blame a teenager who is surrounded by coffee all day to be completely present and not have a million things running through her mind.
"No, that's more your thing. Can't step on your toes!" I joke as we walk down the stairs. "But... One thing I have noticed is how weird he gets when a villain pops up or when he gets a phone call from Bossman. And then he just disappears."
