Miraculously, the next morning Reid got to wake up on his own terms. As we went to sleep the night before we were convinced he'd be forced to leave early. JJ often called everyone in for cases early, so the fact that she didn't was a pleasant surprise.

When his alarm went off, we both got ready, lazily moving around the room to gather our stuff. Instead of leaving right away he set his alarm for a little earlier so we could grab coffee together, claiming I deserved one last date before he inevitably had to skip town. I grinned at the sentiment, pulling him in for a kiss before we slipped on our shoes and headed out.

We drove to the cafe silently, taking the opportunity to wake up from the long night we'd had previously. After our shower we cuddling into bed and hung out until we fell asleep; him being the first to go. I remember I was in the middle of talking to him about how Issac and I used to prank our dad when I first heard him snoring. When it happened I laughed. Reid wasn't much a snorer so when it did happen I couldn't help, but find it funny.

Not long after I joined him, letting the exhaustion of the day take over my body as I hugged the pillow underneath my head.

"Do you know if you're leaving, yet?" I asked.

He shook his head, making a left turn onto the road where the cafe sat. Slowly, he pulled up to the curb, parking behind an oversized truck before shutting off the car and turning to face me. "I secretly hope we just have paperwork to do."

I pulled off my seatbelt with a smile and pushed open the door. As soon as I stepped out onto the sidewalk I let out a loud yawn and stretched my back. I threw my arms up to the sky and closed my eyes. As I did I felt Reid's arms snake around my torso. I giggled and pushed him off, rolling my eyes as I walked to the door of the cafe and propped it open. "You're so touchy," I commented.

He walked past, shooting me wink as he entered the building. I shook my head at his overtly flirtatious nature and followed him in, immediately giving his butt a quick smack when I noticed no one was looking.

He jumped and narrowed his eyes. "Um, excuse me," he laughed.

I shrugged my shoulders like I had no idea what he was talking about and grabbed his hand. A couple people stood in line in front of us, either talking to their partners or staring at their phones. Slowly, the line moved and when we got to the front I ordered for both Luke and I before turning to Reid who added a coffee of his own. As I fished my wallet out of my bag he swooped in and paid of the whole thing, flashing me a smirk as he placed his hand on the small of my back and ushered me away from the counter.

"No fair," I pouted.

"You pay for everything," he argued, "you're not even working anymore."

"I'm getting paid leave."

"Yeah, well," he let out a sigh of defeat, rolling his eyes.

The woman at the handoff plane called out our drinks not long after. Reid ran over to grab them, awkwardly gripping all three cups as he looked up at me desperately. I laughed and went over, grabbing my drink, along with the bag of goodies I got for Luke as an extended apology for what happened last night.

We moved over to the condiment stand, pouring our sugar and stirring before wandering outside to sit on the last remaining set of patio chairs. The sun, despite it only being seven in the morning, was already shining brightly. I pulled a set of shades out from my bag and threw them on, leaning back in my chair with a sigh. Reid frowned in my direction and sipped his coffee. "What's wrong?"

"I forgot my sunglasses at home."

"Sucks to suck," I smirked.

"Jerk," he muttered.
