depleted -
the feeling of empty and blank inside you

"hey darry, what's the time?" i questioned putting my dish away. "seems to be 11:30." he said looking down at his watch. "shoot. i got to go. nice meeting all of you guys! hope to see you guys again sometime soon!" i yelled running out of the front door.

i booked my ass home. i lost track of the time. 'how was my mom going to react? what was going to happen?' that is what went through my head.

i quietly opened the door and my mom was standing in the kictchen, looking down at the sink, with her hands on the counter. i tried my best to tip-toe away but it was too late.

"where in the living hell have you been?" she asked slurring her words and turning around. "i have been at my friends house. i'm real sorry. i was having a good time and lost-." i was cut off by her.

"you said you were just having dinner. what else did you do? go fuck someone? probably knowing you." she told me taking a swig of her beer.

i looked at her with a blank expression. what has gotten into her lately? "mom what are you taking?" i asked walking closer to her. "what are you talking about? she asked snapping at me. "you know what i am talking about mom." i said with my voice cracking. the next thing i knew, things went darker and darker.

i woke up to looking at white walls around me and a machine making beeping noises to my left. "where am i?" i questioned trying to sit up. "oh your finally up." i nearly fell off the bed. it was darry.

"what's going on?" i asked confused. "i don't exactly know. you went home and about and hour later we saw an ambulance coming towards your house. well dally and i heard it and we ran to end of the street and saw it was your house. then dally and i decided to come and see what's up." he told me.

"oh well thank you for coming and checking in. you can go if you want." i told him. "oh no worry, we can stay awhile longer." he told me giving me a smile. than dallas walked in.

"aye, look who woke up." he said with a cancer stick in his mouth. "what even happened?" darry asked standing up. i knew exactly what happened. my mom hit me with a beer bottle straight to the head.

"i don't remember." i told them lying through my teeth. then a nurse and police officer walked in. "well it seems that it wasn't anything too bad. no brain damage or so, just a a huge scar on your head." the nurse told me smiling. that made me feel so relieved. the police officer asked everyone to leave since he needed to ask me some questions.

"i'm officer dinge. i just wanted to ask a few questions about what happened." he told me grabbing his notepad and pen. "before we start, do you happen to know where my mother is?" i asked just realizing she wasn't there. "when we arrived at your house, your mother was passed out in her bed." he told me looking at me.

what? why wasn't she here? she did this to me. she should see me. i wanted to break down right then and there, but i didn't. i made up a fake story that there was broken glass on the floor and my mom forgot to pick it up and i wasn't paying attention and i slipped and hit my head. he bought it which i was glad about.
the officer left and i guess darry and dally left because no one came in after the officer was gone.

i stared at the clock ticking on the wall until i soon closed my eyes and fell asleep.
i got to leave the next morning. my head hurt like a bitch.

i decided just to walk home. i arrived at home and found a note on the counter. it read:
dear bella, i am sorry for what i did. we need to talk tonight. i will be home around 10 p.m. see you later.
