Sweet tea in the summer

Cross your heart, won't tell no other

And though I can't recall your face

I still got love for you.

There's a strange feeling that comes when you look at someone for the first time and feel like you already know them. It's like seeing a face in a crowd that's both unfamiliar and familiar at the same time.

Your mind struggles to place them.

Maybe it's in a dream you've forgotten, or a memory buried so deep you can't quite reach it.

Their eyes, their smile, the way they move, it all feels like something you've experienced before, like a story half-remembered.

Your heart skips a beat, not from recognition, but from the feeling that you should recognize them. It's as if some invisible thread connects the two of you, pulling at the edges of your memory, whispering that this person means something, even if you can't explain why.

It's impossible because you've never met. You're sure of it, but the connection lingers in the back of your mind, refusing to let go...

As Gally tossed the new Greenie to the ground, Emma's eyes locked with his for a fleeting moment. The boy, disoriented and terrified, looked right at her, his gaze wide and searching, almost as if he knew her too.

The feeling of familiarity hit her instantly like she'd seen this boy before, like he'd been part of some distant dream she couldn't quite remember. His eyes held hers for just a second, but in that second, everything around her seemed to blur and quiet.

It wasn't logical.

She knew it was impossible. But it was there, tugging at her mind like a thread that wouldn't come loose. She blinked, shaking her head, trying to push the thought away, but the strange pull wouldn't leave.

Before she could even make sense of the feeling, the boy suddenly bolted upright, his eyes darting nervously between the unfamiliar faces, and then, he ran.

A collective cheer and laugh erupted from the surrounding Gladers, amused at the panic of the new arrival.

But Emma stood there frozen, still lost in her thoughts.

She couldn't shake the strange feeling, the sense of familiarity that tugged at her mind. The chaotic energy of the Gladers around her, the laughter and cheers faded into the background. It wasn't until she felt a hand gently placed on her shoulder that she snapped out of it.
