My love has gone away

Tell me true, my heart is new

My love has gone away

Thomas paced back and forth, his feet crunching against the dirt floor of the small, dimly lit room. His expression was tight with frustration, his brow furrowed as he wrestled with the weight of the situation.

Emma stood across from him, leaning against the wall, arms crossed, watching him with a mixture of concern and exasperation.

"You're not going up there. Not you. I won't let it happen," Thomas snapped, his voice harsh with determination. His movements were jittery, hands raking through his hair as he tried to focus his thoughts.

Emma let out a weary sigh, her eyes softening as she looked at him.

"Thomas, I have to. It's the last step of the plan," she said, trying to keep her voice calm, even as the fear gnawed at the edges of her mind. She knew what awaited her if she went up there. They both did.

But it was the only way to finish what they'd started.

Thomas stopped pacing, turning on her with a desperate look in his eyes. "Screw the plan, Emma," he hissed, his voice dropping into a low growl like he was afraid the walls might be listening in.

"You're not doing this. You can't do this."

Emma shook her head, pushing herself off the wall as she stepped closer to him, her tone firm but gentle. "Thomas, we all willingly took part in this, one way or another. You can't blame it all on yourself... We're all to blame in one way or another."

Thomas shook his head, his frustration boiling over.

"Emma, you need to listen to me," he said, his voice trembling with urgency. "I'm going to send you in with Newt and Alby, with the others. You're not going into Group B as planned."

Emma stared at him, caught off guard by his sudden change in plans.

"What? Thomas, you can't do that. I'm supposed to be placed in Group B. They'll kill you if you mess this up for them. They've been planning this for years!" Her voice grew more frantic, her eyes darting around the room, half-expecting to see Ava or one of the others eavesdropping.

Thomas met her gaze, the desperation in his eyes replaced with a steely determination. "I don't care. You'll be safer with them than in the other group. Trust me. Please, Emma."
