~Sara~
"Alright, I'm gonna go with you three on the berg," said Vince as they arrived at McGrath once again.
The berg was intact, and it was a blessing given that there was no other way they could go from Alaska to Denver in the shortest time possible.
"What? Why?" asked Rebecca, furrowing her eyebrows.
"You heard the man. Jorge said you're gonna have to sneak into the city 'cause you won't get past the gates with Newt," said Vince, shrugging. "But lucky for you, I have a way into the city. That's where me and my men go every time we visit for supplies."
"What's the way in, then?" asked Sara.
"The underground," he replied as the four of them mounted the berg.

After a day of traveling, they received countless calls from Jorge. After all, he thought they'd never left the outside of Denver.
Rebecca convinced him that they'd brought a little help along, even though it was scary to think Vince with a gun was the safest kind of help around. Sara, Newt, and Rebecca could've brought launchers with them in case they ran into any Cranks, but if they wanted to get infiltrated into the city, they had to leave them behind. They depended on Vince to protect them with his own gun.
Sara was also worried about Jarrod. Although he was still where he was before she met him, it just didn't feel right to leave so quickly. She hoped she could get to see him at least one more time before it was too late for him.
Rebecca stopped the berg outside the city, but much farther away than the first time. The four of them quickly dismounted.
"Here. Follow me," said Vince, calling them over, and it looked like he was wanting to surround the city walls.
"Where are we going?" asked Rebecca.
Sneaking into a place somehow seemed a lot more dangerous than escaping it.
Nonetheless, she held Newt's hand, both following Rebecca and Vince with cautious steps. They had to be looking around for any signs of danger, either from the sky with bergs looking for them, or security from the city itself.
They stopped before a small encirclement of dirt. The ground was so bare that Sara hardly stopped to look down, but Vince making them stop was the first indicator that she should've looked.
"Watch out." He held out his arms to stop them from moving forward.
Then he leaned down and moved the dirt out of the way with his hands, and Sara saw a sewer lid was hiding underneath the dirt. Vince lifted it and gestured for them to hop inside.
Sara took a step forward to go down first, wanting to make sure it was safe for the rest of them, but Newt stopped her and offered to go first instead.
He sat on the edge and let go, sinking through the hole, and Sara heard a soft thud. Sara was next, and Newt was ready to help her from the bottom so she wouldn't hurt herself. The jump wasn't too high, and there was no way she could've gotten hurt, but she was happy to let Newt care for her. At least it made him feel better.
Rebecca followed, and finally Vince jumped, closing the lid right away as he let go to jump. Sara wondered how he did it without getting his fingers caught.
Immediately, Vince pulled out a small flashlight from his vest, and turned it on.
They'd been speed walking for the past fifteen minutes, and there was only the echo of their footsteps. That underground didn't seem nearly as scary as the one they followed Brenda into. It looked cleaner, and more spacious, which was really saying something. Sara wondered if Cranks actually lurked about in there.
