Daisy's pov circa 1932
"Mary we can't skip school my mother would have my head!"
I argued as Mary told me we should wag.
"Shh. Keep your voice down dais. Come ere"
She held my hand and dragged me out.
"What?"
"I have a secret."
"Tell me!"
"I'm seeing someone."
Mary whispered.
"Pardon?"
"I'm seeing someone."
She squealed.
My eyes widened.
"I'm so happy for you!"
"The thing is, he's so- oh my I can't describe."
"What's his name?"
I asked tucking a strand of loose hair behind my ear, I always seem to do that.
"Oh well that's a secret! Now come on we're going to London!"
"London!?!"
Mary and I have dreamt of going to London together, it's our biggest dream, but it's never been on our plate since we're only 18.I haven't met anyone, I'll probably be lonely forever.
"Hey daisy! You look nice!"
Richard. Ugh. Richard was a boy who always says I look good but he only does it because his friends dare him to.It bothers me.
"Bite me!"
Mary yelled out to Richard.
But I can't help but blush, Richard is quite the looker. And I've always had a soft spot for the lad, but we all know socially awkward ugly nerdy girls never find love, a quote Olivia has made sure to tell me everyday.
"Hey hey, listen daisy. You are a beautiful brave woman. And you don't need some crummy geazer to remind you. Let's go there's more to the secret."
Marry said almost as if she read my mind. She smiled grabbing my hand and running me through the shcool gates
"No! Mary! I've never broken a school rule!"
I yelled clawing at her Hand which was supper glued to my arm running behind school grounds. We stopped when we reached the park near the train station.
We were both completely and utterly out of breath but Mary had an evil smile on her fave, making me scared to know what's happening next.
"Daisy daisy daisy, your such a baby!"
She said chuckling.
I gasped and hit her shoulder.
"Excuse me! Your the one dragging me out of school! In school hours! Your gonna pay for that—"
Before I could finish she grabbed my arm again running to the train station. There was a hay rain transporting hay to fields out into big wharehouses in London. My father is a train inductor so I'm an expert.
"Daisy follow my lead."
Mary whispered.
Before I could object, Mary walked causually over to the train, she then ran over to one of the tubs full of hay, there was an opening and she jumped in.
My eyes widened I shook my head and walked away.
"Oi daisy! Chicken?!"
I stopped in my tracks.
"How dare you!"
I yelled jumping into the train full of hay falling on top of Mary pushing her Back further into the hay.Luckily the station was practically empty otherwise we'd be in trouble.
Mary let out a big laugh.
"Wait. No! Wait!"
I tried getting off my the train was going.
"Mary you little-"
"Bitch."
I whispered.
"What was that luv?"
"Youbitch!"
I yelled.
"DAISY ANNE JAMES! was that a cuss word?!"
I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand.
"Well now that you've sinned we're even, now enjoy this please dais you deserve some fun."
I smiled.
"See you are having fun!"
My smile grew.
"I don't know who'd I be without you Mary."
I sighed hugging her.
"You'd be lost."
She exclaimed kissing my head, she's my best friend she's helped me through everything.
"And I thank you Mary Patricia."
-
"Pssst daisy. Psssst."
I groaned in response twisting my head around. My eyes fluttered open.
"Mary? Where are we?"
I whispered.
"We're in London."
My smile grew.
"We made it?"
"We made it baby!"
"Shhhhh.!"
I said, we were still on the hay train.
"Ok let's go."
Mary said ducking out and grabbing my arm, we hopped off and ran our hardest out of it.
"Oi! You two! Get back here!"
"Did you two buy tickets?!"
"Shit! Run daisy! Run!!"
I nodded and I powered down the pavement of the London station, lifting my dress so it was easier.
"Come back here!"
We heard the aggressive man.
But luckily Mary and I ducked between an ally and hid until the coast was cleared.
We smiled and hugged.
"We made it!"
"We sure did! Now come this way."
Mary said we brushed any dirt or hay from our school dresses and quite casually walked down the streets of London. It's like a dream come true.
But we stopped at a certain park, there was one big oak tree in the middle.
Mary ran in and placed her palm on the oak tree leaning her head against it.I ran over.
"What's this?"
I asked.
"This tree, this very tree will be important to me."
She kissed its bark and we hitch hiked out to the fields. We hoped out of the car and stopped at this one beautiful field.
There were flowers scattered everywhere it was breath taking.
Mary and I ran into the meadows of endless flowers jumping into them side by side doing snow angles until we couldn't bare to move.
We lay there in silence.
"Yknow one day I'll bring my children here daisy."
Mary sighed out.
"You day Yknow to much Mary my mother said it's bad vocabulary"
"Pffft."
"I'll take my children here to."
I whispered, Mary took my hands and faced me.
"James, the man his name is James. He's such A Dream daisy! He's in a jazz band. James McCartney."
I smiled facing her more.
"Congratulations Mary!"
"Have any names for children?"
I said as a joke.
"I'm having two kids, if girls Ill name them Pauline and Michelle."
I smiled.
"And if there boys."
I continued.
"They'd be paul and mike!"
"I don't like the name Paul, I do like James though."
"So you'll name your boy after the father?"
"You sure are in love Mary."
I sighed out.
"Sure am."

Gracie's pov
"So mary and I spent the day in London, my mother had me head when I got home and all but it was worth it."
Mother finished.
Paul was quietly sobbing at the sad story of his mother.
"Paul your mother was something else, she was a magnificent person. I'll never forget her."
"So she did call you Paul!"
Paul sniffled.
"No actually she did call me James, I just go by Paul. And me brothers name is mike."
Mother smiled and looked over to a picture on the fire place mantel.
She got up and looked at it.
She came back and handed it to the both of us.
It was the two of them hugging each other they look incredibly happy.
It made me smile, and forget about Zac and my absence.
"Mary was a out going one, I suggest you follow out what she presented."
Paul nodded, I brought him into a hug stroking his hair.
" I love you."
I whispered.
"I love you."
Paul mumbled back.
