A/N:
Before anything, I'd like to first thank you all again for reading this still! Now if you're currently a little unoccupied, may I ask for a second of your time to tell me what you think about the story so far? 🥺 My brain has been rusty for a couple of days (which I failed to realize up until I reread my own chapters) and I'm in fear of writing things down that doesn't make sense so the littlest feedback would help!
P.s. The weekend is here so I'd like to once again remind all of you, how great you've done for surviving this week! And happy reading!( 🎵 Jeremy Zucker - Scared )
The truth have always possess a certain amount of power to alter, be it the way you see things or feel about things. Even the littlest drop of it, may bring an effect. But Seonghwa didn't know what he should do with all the new-found information that held no lie. He was conflicted in his head. Should he ever allow this actual version of reality to effect anything at all.
But one thing for sure, he knew how Hwang Yunhee should not be told of how he knew about everything that happened. If there was one thing Park Seonghwa didn't know about the girl he loves, it'd be the peculiar way of how she deals with certain things. She could leave again and he could never know but that would be the last thing that he wants.
"No, you're not going to work today," his voice was stern, leaving no space for her to fit her own to fight against his.
Yunhee was discharged two hours after she woke up and the amount of worries she was getting once they stepped inside the shared apartment was overwhelming, especially the one coming from the tall man wearing a suit with a loose tie hanging around his neck.
"Hwa, don't you need the papers by tomorrow? The bidding's literally infront of your eyes at this point," she looked at him with pleading eyes, knowing she'll itch to work as the paper wasn't finished yet.
"Didn't you finish half of them already? You told me, you only had to compile the expense report, I can ask Yeonjun to finish that," he said, his tone unwavering.
"The files I lost are mine, I'm the one who remembers the things I wrote inside," she pointed out.
The lass could see him losing patience as his palm roughly went over his face. He was at lost for ways on how to pull her out of that sense of responsibility she had. It was as if she couldn't see the amount of worries he was trying to suppress.
"I'll give you another day to finish it so you can take a day off to rest, how about that?"
"Seonghwa, I'm fine. Giving me another day wouldn't recover all the files anyw-."
"Why are you so stubborn?!" his voice resonated through the living room they were both standing in, cutting her words right down the middle like a knife. It has been so long since the last time Yunhee could hear the man raise his voice and she forgot how scary he could be when he lost his patience.
Seonghwa clicked back into reality after the words left his mouth, realizing how he had just yelled at her when all she wanted to do was finish her work on time for him. "Fuck, baby, I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell at you."
He took a few steps forward to get closer to her but she turned and take a few steps further to sit on the couch. With both her hands placed by the side of her leg, she looked down, hair cascading down on either side of her face to cover it. "I just... I don't want to be a burden for anyone. If I finish it by tomorrow, then that means pushing back Yeonjun's work when he already so much to do. And then if he finish it later than he should, that would also mean you'd have less time to make sure everything's in place."
The lad walked closer to the couch, sitting beside her before taking both her hands into his, making her face him. "Hey, pushing it back by a day wouldn't effect much, okay? Yeonjun also has Kim Taeha to assist him now so don't worry about it, hm?" In contrary to how he snapped earlier, he spoke in the softest tone he had.
"But I'm fine. I only passed out and nothing else happened. I can still-."
Her brain malfunctioned the moment she felt his lips pressing onto her own. All the words she had in her mind was left unsaid and had slowly disappeared from her head. He only pulled away a few seconds later while looking deep into her eyes. "Sorry, I didn't know how else I should shut you up."
"So, it's either you finish it tomorrow, or I'm going to ask Yeonjun to finish the remaining of your work," Yunhee couldn't fool herself. She was exhausted these past few days, her head was full of useless thoughts and she barely slept a wink. The latter option was tempting but rather than dumping her work on someone else, she'd rather wait another day to finish it on her own.
"I'll.. finish it tomorrow," she answered him, with face still heated from his sudden kiss from earlier.
The side of Seonghwa's lips tugged into a smile, "go spend the day with Eunbyul, yeah? I'm sure you'll feel re-energized afterwards," he said to which she nodded. He checked his watch for a second before looking back up at her, "I'll have to leave now, will that be okay?"
"Yeah..," she replied.
"Call me if you need anything, I'll be here in a second," he ordered, earning yet another nod from her but this time with a smile coming along with it.
Yunhee gulped as she hesitated the words she wanted to say to him before he left, she folded her lips in while looking down and that made it obvious to him how she had something to say. "What is it?" he asked.
"Can you... come over later on... after work...?" she hesitantly requested, "I don't mean to sound needy but... I don't know.... I just... really want you to be around for some reason. But if you have work to do after, or you're exhausted.. well if you are, you don't have to force it."
"I'll come over," he answered before giving her one last peck on her forehead and standing up.
Once he was out the door, Yunhee immediately went inside her room to see her aunt and daughter playing on the floor. The little girl looked entertained with her small stuffed animal, swinging it up and down like every baby would do.

Seonghwa got into his car and drove out the apartment complex. When he stopped by a red light, he took this chance to plug in his AirPods and call his secretary to which didn't take a second longer to pick up.
"Mr. Park, what's the matter?"
"Can you check the surveillance footage of the creative department around 5PM yesterday?" he inquired.
"Sure, should I email you the footage after?"
"Yes, that would be great. Thank you," he replied before ending the call and continued driving through the busy streets of Seoul.
It was nearly time for everyone to end their shift by the time Seonghwa arrived. Some had already left as they finished and turned in all their work for the day already. But leaving early was never the case for Choi Yeonjun. He was always the one staying behind as he got carried away with finishing whatever paper he had to finish.
The landline by the side of Yeonjun's table rang loudly, startling him and flicking him out of his focus. Upon seeing the speed dial number, he pulled it up with a rush and press it on his ears. "Hello, Mr. Park. Is there anything that you need?"
"Would you mind coming into my office for a second?" there was no way he would answer with the fact that he mind although the piled up work was still waiting for him. The boy got up on his feet immediately and went on his way to meet the CEO.
Yeonjun had always go back and forth of Seonghwa's office. Although it was scary at first to get called in at the most unexpected times, due to how often his presence was requested, he had gotten used to it. But none of the call had been about how the condition his department was up until then.
"Has everyone been able to work with Yunhee well?" was the first question Seonghwa uttered the moment the younger settled on the seat across him.
"As far as I know, yes. No complain were made ever since she came and it seems like everyone's warming up to her," he answered with a slight confusion lacing his tone.
"How about you, yourself? Are you feeling okay with her being part of your team?"
