( 🎵 James Arthur – Say You Won't Let Go )

( Yet another year has passed )

Yunhee felt like it was only yesterday that she held Eunbyul in her arms, still pink and with her hair sticking on her skin but now her daughter could speak basic words, form funny sentences and jump up and down on her own. Her little moon was growing up in a single snap of finger. But Eunbyul turning three would also mean it has been a whole year since she married Seonghwa.

And just like that it was already Fall again.

The lass could feel the bed undipped from beside her space and that could only mean her husband was awake. A small groan left her mouth as she was slowly coming back to the real world from dreamland and could feel the slight chill from the air conditioner they had decided to turn on the night before. "Hwa...," she called out, gaining the attention of the man standing by their bedside table with his phone on hand to check his emails.

Seonghwa tugged on his lips slightly, smiling upon the sight of how adorable the love of his life looked as she sleepily called out to him. He placed his phone on the table and sat back down on his side of the bed closely beside her. He leaned down slowly, kissing her forehead as his hand was gently caressing her head. "Go back to sleep, yeah?"

"No...," she replied, eyes barely opened and the sight of him was still blurry. "I'll heat up breakfast for you, go to shower."

"Baby, didn't you say you weren't feeling all that well last night after finishing those papers?" he softly questioned the girl. "You can go back to sleep, it's okay. I'll heat it up myself."

"I'm fine now," she assured as she lifted her eyelids up higher to look at him with a reassuring smile.

"You sure?"

"Sure." The lad sighed in defeat, knowing there was no way he could've insisted for her to choose rest over being a good wife. "Now go take a shower or else you're going to be late for your meeting."

Seonghwa gave her yet another quick peck atop her head before nodding and getting off their mattress to enter the bathroom. Yunhee picked herself up to sit and took a quick glance at the clock hanging by the corner of their room. It was 5AM, an hour earlier than the time they usually wake up. The girl hung her leg at the side of her bed and eventually stood up.

She walked around their shared bed and out of the room, heading for her daughter's bedroom first before proceeding to the kitchen. She opened the door to the sight of her little girl sound asleep with her doll snugged inside her hold and so she pulled it back close quietly, not wanting to wake Eunbyul up.

Yunhee was surprised to say the least when she found their fridge nearly empty. And there was really nothing to heat up for breakfast. It only occurred to her then that she forgot to go for her weekly groceries. Only a pack of bacon was left in the freezer but luckily they had their last pancake mix in the drawer above the stove.

Her hands moved quickly, stirring at the powder mix with leftover milk and eggs. She already had a pan on the stove with bacon slices placed neatly on it. As she was done with the pancake mix, the lass quickly took her spatula and flipped the sliced meat so it'll cook evenly on both sides.

The salty smell of bacon was brought up by the steam, slowly entering her nose as she stood right above it. Yunhee didn't know what was wrong, but she could feel her stomach turning upon her nose receiving the scent for which belonged to the meat and soon she could feel her insides rising up. She bit down on her bottom lip, trying her best to contained the nausea that was clawing at her throat. And by this point, she was practically rushing herself throughout making the breakfast. One of the reason being, to make sure she was finished by the time Seonghwa was done showering, and another would be, so she could sit down for a bit as the dizziness from last night was back.

After successfully plating the food and placing it down on the counter, the girl finally took a glass of water and fill it up to the top, sipping on it slowly but surely as she sat herself down on the chair of their bar table. It was soon after that Seonghwa emerge from the hallway with his dress shirt neat but tie still unknotted around his neck. "Hey-," he stopped his words from coming out as he fell upon the sight of the lass, with her head placed on her arms and it was only lifted slowly as she could hear him.

"Hey," she immediately stood up, walking closer to her husband and placing a kiss of his cheeks, "go ahead and start eating first, okay? I'll wash up quickly and join you after." And just like that she walked pass him, not giving him a chance to ask why she looked like she was on the verge of passing out.

Yunhee couldn't pretend like she didn't know what everything meant. The dizziness, nausea, how she had to throw up a couple of times the past week and how she was a little more agitated here and there. She knew what it all meant as she had gone through it once before. Maybe it was a little more toned down then but this was almost similar to what she felt when she first got pregnant with her daughter.

But the uncertainty still splashed like waves. A year into their marriage and there hasn't been a single talk about having a baby shared between the two of them. Seonghwa was still as busy as he was before and even though she requested for him to not get her to a higher position at work, the things she had to do could be made to a long list as well. And she knew the discussion has yet to happen because the lad wanted it all to happen when he's a little more stable and when he finished clearing some of his projects.

And that made it hard for her to get herself a pregnancy test. The only thing that made her stop contemplating and put the box back to where it belonged was the fact that she had to pick her daughter up from daycare after grocery shopping. She couldn't have spent another second standing by the aisle.

Yunhee went through her day like it was any other, trying her best to push away the thought of being pregnant while not knowing whether or not her husband was ready to have a child of their own. And while she didn't want to admit it, she was afraid of how the treatment towards Eunbyul would differ if they were to have a child together.

Seonghwa
I'll be home a little late tonight.
Don't forget to eat your dinner, yeah?
Call me if something happens
08:17 PM

Seonghwa
I love you.
08:18 PM

She quickly typed in her reply upon receiving the message and went ahead to eat dinner together with her little girl. This wasn't the first time he had to come home late. And this had made her mind flew back towards why it was probably a good idea if she wasn't carrying their baby just yet. If he still has to come home late, attend meetings early in the morning, it would somehow be a little heavy for the two.

It was 11 when she put her daughter to bed and he has yet to appear by the door which was not strange at all but her mood was making her long for his presence a little more than any other night when he has to stay longer at the office.

The lass decided to grab herself something to bite as she tried to finish her own paperwork inside the dimly lit bedroom. She was fine all throughout dinner and maybe that's because she barely got anything in her stomach but two bites in to the cracker and she could already feel all the nausea coming back.

This time, she knew she couldn't hold it in like the one she got earlier that morning. It was one of those ones and she quickly set her laptop aside on the bed, getting up and running to the bathroom as fast as she could after. Her stomach was squeezing tight and loose a little too violently that she barely made it to the toilet. And it didn't help how she could hear their bedroom door opening, which could only mean Seonghwa was home and he was going to see the mess that she was right then.

She could hear him calling out to her, trying to locate where she was at and as soon as he spot her inside the toilet, with her body crouched down in front of the bowl, it didn't take a second longer for him to quickly ran inside. Soon, she felt a hand gently rubbing her back as to try and make her feel better but it took a couple more times of bile pushed up her throat for her to stop vomiting. Slowly she could feel her stomach stop contracting and it was only then that she sat herself down on the toilet floor, slightly panting.

"I'm sorry you had to see that first thing once you got home," she told him apologetically, eyes looking at him a little sullenly.

"How long has this been going on?" he questioned her as he too, sat down on the floor beside her though slightly uncomfortable. She was quiet, not giving any signs of answering. "Yunhee, I know this was not the first time."

She looked down on the marble tiles, not knowing whether or not she should tell him. But the sour taste inside her mouth for which she has tasted for days on end this week, told her being honest with him would probably be the best option as of now. "A week... maybe a little more than that."

"Why didn't you tell me...?" even with her eyes still the patterns of the floor, she knew he was looking at her with nothing but concern lacing the hues of his orbs.

"I...," she trailed, "I... didn't want to worry you."

"Hey." She could hear him sigh before both of her hands were grabbed into his own, finally bringing her attention towards him. Yunhee shift slightly to face the man before her who was looking at her with raw emotions pouring from his eyes. "In sickness and in heath, remember?" She nodded slightly, looking away once again but he let go off her hands, moving it to be placed on either sides of her cheeks so she was looking at him.

"I don't have a meeting for tomorrow so we're going to the doctor after work, alright?" It took a couple of seconds before she finally surrendered.

"Alright."
