( 🎵 Taylor Swift ft. Shawn Mendes – Lover [Remix] )
Seonghwa sat by the counter with Eunbyul in his arms. She was still sound asleep with her head rested on his shoulder as he occasionally pat her gently. Yunhee was focused on the food she was making, not realizing how the man behind has been stealing glances at her direction every once in a while.
The recollection of how bad she was at cooking back in high school, rushed back to him. It made him feel slightly nostalgic as they used to try stirring up some food together only for him to take over completely. The only time she was able to make something, she had given Hongjoong a bad diarrhea right after eating it. A small smile tugged at his lips upon recalling the memory.
He slowly rises from his seat, not wanting to startle the little girl and walked closer to the kitchen. From up-close, he could see how focused she was and every piece of ingredients she chopped up has been neatly done. Surely, this is unlike how it was 5 years ago which somewhat formed a sense of relieve for him.
"Is this what it feels like to have you as a wife?" he said, snapping her out of her focus as she quickly looked behind her.
"Oh, God. You scared me!" she exclaimed to which was responded with a small chuckle emitted from his lips.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," Seonghwa stood still on where he was. Watching her as she got her eyes back on the pan full of what looks like bulgogi. Her hands looked experience with the spatula gripped tightly, making her look more and more like a mom as well as a house wife, and for a second, the lad could only imagine what it'll be like if this was actually their household.
"You know, all throughout high school, I thought I'm going to marry you one day," he knew better than to initiate a conversation with someone who was busy cooking but he didn't expect her to answer; he just needed her to know as it fits the moment.
Yunhee bit down a smile and although she was damn sure she was used to his words, she could still feel the heat creeping up her cheeks. "I did too," her voice was barely audible for him as the sound of oil sizzling overwhelmed the space. "I still do, but that would be impossible right," her volume slowly decreased but he caught on to some.
"What?"
"Nothing," she quickly remarked before turning off the stove and walking closer to where he stood. No one likes to be forcefully woken up by someone and that was certainly the case for Eunbyul. Yunhee patted her back gently in attempt to wake her up but all she did is move to find a more comfortable position in Seonghwa's arms.
"Hey, princess," she whispered to her ears while hands still patting her back, "would you like to wake up now?" Seonghwa too have now tried to shake her slightly to wake her up but only after a painful minute had she wanted to open her eyes, rubbing it in an awkward manner as she didn't exactly know how to.
"You arms are probably sore so you can sit her down on her baby chair now," she told him which got him moving on his feet to place the little girl down on her baby chair placed before the dinner table. He was careful not to let her feet get stuck in the holes and as she has yet to completely contain all her soul back into her body, Seonghwa quickly dragged the chair beside hers and sat on it to pay a close attention just in case. Seeing this brought back the smile on the mother's face. Her heart swells at the sight as well as the realization that he was better with kids than she thought he was.
The plates of food were served soon after. It really was as simple as it could get, she didn't want to force herself to make anything fancy eventhough she wanted to. Her energy was not sufficient enough. She could see how shock the man was upon seeing how the food actually looks like... food and she quickly glared at him, stifling a small laugh from him.
