Chapter 12

Jennie's POV

WHAT WILL I GIVE HIM?! I am thinking very hard on what will I give to Taehyung. He told me before that he doesn't need any gift from me.

It's almost Christmas. I bought gifts for BTS and my members. But I can't just think of any when it comes to him. He always gave me things in every tour that they have. From each country that they went, I have a souvenir. And yet here I am in the middle of the mall, with a bunch of people. With my expose face, cameras flashing everywhere.

I know that I just put myself in a big mess. I forgot to bring mask and cap. My members thought I will go and meet Nayeon unnie. Well that's what I asked permission to our manager.

We are really going to meet but she has a very important errand to run. And the fact that TWICE is busy for their busy schedules.

Okay Jennie, calm down. This will not take forever. I just need to look for a perfect gift for Taehyung. A gift that will make him smile.

"Excuse me?" I was cut from my trance of thoughts when someone caught my attention.

"Jennie?" She called. Oh~kay. I actually don't know this girl. Have we met before?! She's freaking the hell out of me. She's smiling cheekily, her eyes are shimmering at the sight of me. Her mouth curved into a force smile.

"Do I know you?" Without second thought I asked.

She shook her head as she went towards me. She held my arm and I was very ready to shout for help when she suddenly whisper.

"Ms. Jennie I am not gonna hurt you. V from BTS sent me." At that statement I looked at her. Shocked is written all over my face.

"V?" I whispered

She nodded her head. "He was the one who told me to accompany you. Your face is posted in every social media. Just act normal Ms. Kim. Act like I'm just your friend."

I laughed awkwardly as I playfully pinch her forearm. So much for acting normal eh?

I saw some fans capturing some pics of us while murmuring words. They must've realized that I am acting.

I put my arm on her shoulder. And she gasped.

"Let's get out of here." I said.

She nodded. This girl is quite familiar to me though. I feel like I've seen her from somewhere. I just can't think of where and when?

"How did you know my name?" I asked as we exit the shop.

"Who wouldn't know Jennie Kim?" Okay I was caught off guard when she savagely answered me.

My brows furrowed to what she just acted.

She raised both of her hands as if she is surrendering.

"I'm V's cousin. Just call me Xy." When she introduced herself as Taehyung's cousin I was halted from walking and bowed at her 90 degrees.

She stop me from bowing and look at all the people around us, watching. She laughed so hard. Is she still acting with my state? I am literally nervous and embarrassed for acting bad towards her.

I thought she is a staff of BTS or a special someone of Tae.

"Stop that Ms. Kim. People might say you're crazy." She stated with a small smile or smirk on her face.

I stood up straight once again.

"Is he here?" She shook her head instantly. She knew who I was referring to.

"What are you doing here in the mall with your exposed face anyway?" She asked. She is boyish, savage, and an expressionless cute girl. But her aura shouts beauty and art. She has the same jawline and eyes with Taehyung.

I really have this feeling that I saw her from somewhere. Aish!

"Ah~ I was looking for a gift?" I answered unsure.

"A gift." Not a question but a statement from her.

She nod her head, and then she sighed heavily. She looked at me with a bored look. I must've caused disturbance to her.

I was about to apologize when she cut me off.

"For V? Maybe I can help?" She offered. I jumped not because I was afraid but because of excitement. She will be a great help she's his cousin and she know a lot about him.

She walked to an accessory shop, there's a watch section. She look at me once again and motion me to choose and pick.

"Huh?" I asked as if I am confused. Well yes I am confused! So confused!

"He lost his watch." And that's when I get it.

I look at the set of watch that was displayed in front of me. All are expensive. Everything is in color gold and silver. It has diamonds too.

"Miss do you have an antique watch?" I asked. The saleslady hurriedly got what I want to have.

"No wonder, now I know why he's so into you." Xy said, I turn to her. She was holding a watch and trying it on at the same time.

She turn to me as well and an unforeseen smile plastered on her lips.

"I suggest you give that watch on his birthday. Before they go to US." Yeah right! His birthday is coming!!! I forgot about it!

"They'll perform to that New Year event in US. You should give it to him a day before his birthday. He would be glad." She continued talking.

"Ms. Jennie Kim here it is." The saleslady give me two watches. What should I choose?

I raised the two watches trying to make Xy choose the better.

"What would he love? I'm sure both watches will captivate his attention but I know that he has something that he like and love." She didn't help me on choosing instead she threw me with a very confusing statement.

"You see Ms. Kim, you knew him more than anyone. You knew the things that he likes and he loves."

I chose the simpler one. Tae grew up with his grandma in a simple and ordinary life. Even though he's very fashionista because of what he wears. I still see that he's still the same. He wouldn't want to change his lifestyle just for other people's benefit.

He has this belief that he would please more himself than other people.

"I'll take you to your dorm. They're waiting for you there." This girl is very mysterious in a cute way.

"Okay." I simply replied.

I rode on her car. She drove me to the dorm. She didn't say anything. I saw some hanging pictures of Xy with Taehyung on her front mirror. There are so cute. Taehyung is still young and Xy is so cute.

I smiled at the cute picture. She cleared her throat and she look at me.

"Please don't hurt V again. I know that he endured every pain you've caused, he's a fragile person. And from what I see you're more fragile than he is." I was shocked to what she said.

"W-what. . ." I didn't finish what I was trying to say when she cut me.

"V likes to start anew with you. I don't know if he already told you that he still have feelings for you. Just be with him no matter what."

After she said that she turn her gaze on the road. Her expression is blank again. I didn't say anything until we arrive. She went out from her car and I followed. She walked with me until our porch.

"Thanks Xy."

"It's Aera."

"Huh?"

She smiled at me.

"My name is Kim Aera. Xy is a name that V gave me. Since you're his secret friend or shall I say 'soon' lover, call me by my name."

Before I can even say anything she walked towards her car and entered. She drove away, I was left standing outside our dorm. I heard the door open from my back.

"Kim Jennie." I then heard the scary tones of my members calling my name, I saw the guys standing at their backs.
