Chapter 17

Continuation.....

So I was wrong all this time. I thought he was avoiding me. I thought he was mad at me.

He waited for me to call? While I was also thinking the same thing.

I was waiting for him.

I cleared my throat before speaking... "I was waiting for you to call me too." I honestly said. He was surprised but he then smiled at me. I feel like all the worries I have all this time were gone. A simple smile from him was like an assurance for me that everything's fine.

"Don't you think we're meant to be together?" I was caught off guard when he said it bluntly.

I awkwardly laugh as if he was just joking about it but when I looked at him again and when our gazes locked, that's when I saw how serious he is to me.

"I miss you." His voice was low but I still heard it. His wide smile turns into a small smile and I saw how his eyes glints at the sight of me. What should I say? I do miss him too. But I can't say it aloud since I'm too shy to say it! He was there sitting across me not minding if I'll answer or not.

He was like a cute angel looking at the person he trully admires.

I know how cliche that sounds but whenever I am with him I just feel this unexplainable things!

"Here's your order." I shyly bowed my head when our food was being served. He thanked the waiter then the waiter left. He was arranging the food and even gave me my utensils.

"Eat Jen." He offered. I nodded at him and eat like I haven't eat my whole life. WHY AM I FEELING LIKE THIS?! WHAT DID I EVER DID IN MY PAST LIFE TO DESERVE THIS GUY IN FRONT OF ME?

"Eat slowly. You'll choke." He reminded and so I did.

I raised my brow while I stare at him eating deliciously his food while sipping on his coffee.

"I heard from Jisoo that you'll be busier this year?" He's starting to open a topic and who am I to say no. Like duhh he's doing his very best to keep me company and I should cooperate!

"Yeah. Our manager told us that we'll have a comeback."

"Wow that's great! I'm excited about your new concept. Do you have any clue that you can share to me?

"That would be a surprise." I cheekily said. He pouted like a kid and just shrugged his shoulders. Why is he so adorable?

"Mm, I'll change my hair probably." I still don't know about this idea of mine because he knows I don't want to change my hair color.

"You can't do that though. You're not used to change your hair color because you'll have rashes and allergies to your scalp." I was surprised that he still knew about this small fact about me.

"I'm not sure yet."

"But if you do change your hair... I wan't it to be like Yeontan's hair." He suggested....well more like it's an insult.

I looked at him with questionable look so he raised both of his hands and waved it like it wasn't what I was thinking.

I put down my utensils and lean on the back of my chair before I crossed my arms waiting for him to explain. Earlier I was feeling shy. Now I am feeling like I'm the boss here.

"I just like Yeontan's hair...you know blonde and black." I squinted my eyes and I know that he already get the idea that his reason is still not enough.

"Do I look like a dog to you?" I asked.

"No! Of course not! It's just that both you and Yeontan are precious to me. That's all." While explaining he closed his eyes afraid on how I would react. When he opened his eyes I just went back to eating like nothing ever happened.

"Um Jen? Are you mad?"

"No." He sighed deeply causing me to look at him. "What's wrong?"

"I was trying to lift up the mood here guess I'm stepping the line. I'm sorry." He apologized. See? Look how pure this person is! And who am I to resist his charm?!

"It's okay Tae. I was just acting." I assured him. He smiled then plastered back to his face. He lean to me and I was taken aback. My eyes grew wider when he examined my face so close. It's as if he's memorizing every corner of my face.

"Why are you so hard to resist? What am I to you Jen?" His question left me hanging. Okay! I just don't know if his question was in literal or figurative way! I don't want to assume things!

"W-what?"

"Am I still a friend?" He emphasized the term. I was looking for the right answer but I just can't.

"We a-are..." I stuttered.

I sighed in relief when my phone rang and I hurriedly pull it out from my pocket. It was Jisoo unnie.

"I need to answer this." He sat back properly and nodded. I then answered the call.

["How did it go Jennie?"] It was Chaeng asking me in English.

["Yah unnie what took you so long!"] I heard Lisa from the background.

["Okay ladies...give me back my phone."] A moment of silence. I think the younger ones gave unnie her phone. ["Jennie, come back safely."]

"O-okay unnie." I just stuttered to unnie for God's sake! I look at Tae and he's looking at me so amused. I'm really embarassed right now!

["Tsk. You get shy now Jennie huh? That's so NOT you."] I was about to protest but she turn the call off.

I laughed awkwardly once again to cover up my embarassment state. But I think it's getting awkward.

"Do they want you home now?" I nodded to his question. It seems like I'm quite desperate to go home.

"Um, I guess so?" He put down his utensils and got something from his bag.

"I got this one from some merchant in the States when we were promoting Map of the Soul: 7. It's a necklace. I was mesmerized to it. "When I saw that the first person that comes to my mind was you so..."

I got it from him and smiled. "Thank you. I'll wear this on our comeback." He smiled at me.

"I'll take you home."

When we went out of the cafe, we went to the parking lot...to his car. He opened the car door and I  go inside. He ran to the opposite door and got himself in.

"Seatbelt."

I buckled up my seatbelt and what makes it funnier was we did it at the same time so we laugh. He turned on the engine and drove off.

"You know my favorite color right?" He asked. Since the cafe was just near our dorm we didn't take long to arrive.

"Blue." I answered.

"It changed now. It's green."

"Why?" I was curious why it changed.

"Because you love nature..." then he looked at me. "...and I'm starting to love the things that you love."
