"Corban's gone, he just bailed on us! We're sitting in this random lady's home! Remington got stabbed in the shoulder! Our tents are probably being ran-sacked right now! All my belongings! All my other clothes!" I rant pacing back and forth in the lady's living room as Reece eats from a can of food she found in the random women's kitchen.
"Mnng-- I don't think it's that bad," Reece says with a mouth full of food.
"We literally have no idea where Corban is!" I exclaim angrily, "We need him! He's the only one of us with a working brain! And you heard him the other day, he seemed so bent on doing something else and moving on without us!"
"Pssh he'll be fine," Remington says from the other room as he sticks his head out the door while he wraps up his shoulder where he was stabbed, "It's Corban, he'll come back. He just probably got scared and took off not wanting to get in trouble."
"I guess you're right. I'm still worried about him leaving us soon." I mutter as I  walk over and sit down on the couch a few feet away from Reece and cross my arms as I stare at the unconscious woman's body slumped up against the wall where we can all see her. Since we couldn't find anything to tie her up with we just put a bunch of chairs around her to slow down her escape when she wakes up. It's a stupid idea, I know, but it's the best we can think of. If Corban hadn't been a little bitch and ran off he probably would've suggested something smarter.
"Maybe we should take you to an inn or something Remington, so someone can look at your shoulder," Reece suggests.
"Nah I'll be fine," Remington says, "It wasn't even that deep, besides we'd prolly have to pay alotta money and shit,"
"We can just run out and leave," I suggest.
"Don't be stupid Elias we can't be running away from two different groups in one night, that's how people get killed," Remington says.
"A bit odd for you to start being cautious all the sudden," I mumble.
"Well I'm pretty sure we've done enough screwing up for one night don't you think?" Remington asked.
"So what are we supposed to do now? Do we sleep? Do we wait to see if Corban comes back? Are you gonna punish him when he gets back? If you are can I recommend a punishment?" Reece asks.
"Well no, I'm not his Dad, Corb can do whatever the fuck he wants, but I mean we'll have to take turns watchin' stabby over here so she doesn't strike again," Remington says as he motions over to the woman sitting in the middle of the cluster of chairs.
Suddenly the front door opens and Corban walks in.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?" I exclaim as I stand up.
"Whoa whoa calm down Eli," Remington says as he turns to Corban, "Where the hell have you been Corban?"
"I got rope," Corban says as he drops a long course rope onto the floor in front of him, "Looks like we need it too," He said eyeing the cluster of chairs.
"Yeah, she stabbed me and she seems like the type to try it again," Remington says, "Elias come help me tie her up,"
I walk over and help move enough chairs so we can grab the woman. We tie up her wrists and ankles and cut off all excess rope, all with the occasional wincing from Remington and his hurt shoulder. We then move the chairs back, just in case. After a twenty minutes of Corban explaining his little adventure alone I end up dozing off on the couch.
I kept waking up in the middle of the conversation, probably because everyone was talking super loud. Eventually Corban stops talking, he's probably fell asleep and Remington and Reece make the decision to move the conversation elsewhere. Right before I feel someone throw a blanket over me.
And in that little moment I smile a bit.
Just a bit.
We all act like huge jerks to each other all the time. And sometimes it can get hard for me to tell if we all actually do care about each other or if we're only banning up together to benefit our own self. But it's the little things like that that remind me that we all still care about each other in some way. We all just all struggle to show our love now that we've spent most of our lives not knowing if we'd have to kill to be able to eat let alone survive the day. It screwed up our trusting and bonding with other people. But deep down inside I think we all still care about each other. We just can't express it as well as we used to.

"Elias... Elias... WAKE UP!"
I jump awake and immediately lift my head up. As soon as I do I hit my head against someone else and groan as I set my head back down.
"Ow!" Reece exclaims, "Watch it!" Shes knelt down on the couch right next to me and has her hand on her head form me smacking into her.
"How bout next time you wake someone up by yelling at them you move so your not right in there face," I grumble as I sit up.  I can hear Remington in the other room singing some ridiculous song, Corban is sitting next to me on a chair, he's rubbing his eyes tiredly and his hair is a mess. He must've just woken up as well.
Reece rolls her eyes as she scoots back, "Anyways Remington wanted you guys up to watch the lady while he goes looking around in town, Elias I think he wants you coming with him,"
Corban groans, "I'm guessing we have to stay here at this stupid house,"
"Yep," Reece said in a cheery tone.
"Going once, going twice! Every man here has a price," Remington sings as he walks into the room, "Over where? Over there, sold to not a single lady in here—"
"Do you seriously always have to sing?" I grumble while Remington continues to sing.
"I like it," Reece says, "I think he's a great singer,"
"You like everything," I mutter.
"Well you hate everything," Reece retorts.
"Elias, get up we're going into town," Remington says as he stops singing and looks at me.
I groan and stand up. Quickly running my hands threw my messy hair trying my best to look presentable, "Why?" I ask looking up at Remington, he's still humming and tapping his foot to the beat of the song he was singing a moment ago.
"See what's there, maybe steal some stuff, dunno," Remington shrugs, "Corban, your in charge. Keep the lady in check,"
"Hey! Why is Corban in charge? I'm older than him!" Reece whines.
"Corban actually has a brain," I grumble.
"Hey!"
"Elias! Don't be rude," Remington orders, "But Corban is more responsible, sorry Reece,"
"He left us last night!" Reece argues.
"To get rope cause you three idiots forgot," Corban butts in.
"Whatever," Reece mutters as she rolls her eyes and walks away.
"Well Corban if we don't come back within two hours we've probably been caught or something," Remington says, "If we don't come back in three hours we died."
"Or we've been drugged," I put in.
"Yeah that too, anyways you know the drill don't come after us if it been past three hours cause you'd probably end up getting hurt of something," Remington says.
"Believe me you don't need to worry about that," Corban says.
"Alright we'll be back, come on Elias," Remington orders as he walks towards the door, having Corban's comment fly completely over his head.
I follow Remington outside. We step out of the house and start walking, Remington starts to sing again.
"I've been here like a thousand times, dated every women in the atmosphere,
I've been to every continent, broken all the hearts in every hemisphere,
And if I'm not the type of guy you like to circumvent remember not to love me when I disappear--"
"What song is this?" I ask.
"The Bidding, Tally Hall," Remington says quickly before going back to singing, "I graduated at the top
I like to take advantage of the bourgeoisie
So if you have a fantasy of being a queen
Maybe you should blow a couple bucks on me,"
I simply try to ignore it. But he's only getting louder as he sings. At first it he was just mumbling it. Now he's full on singing. I don't understand why he's always in such a good mood for no reason and feels the need to sing. I'm not gonna like he's a pretty good singer, but it gets annoying quickly.
"I graduated at the top
I like to take advantage of the bourgeoisie
So if you have a fantasy of being a queen
Maybe you should blow a couple bucks on me," Remington sings as he starts to sorta skip as he walks, "C'mon Elias sing!
Going once, going twice
Won't these gentlemen suffice?
Any here? Any there?
Any motions anywhere?
Going twice, going thrice
Guess this means we'll go four times a lady!"
"I don't know this song and I don't like to sing," I say.
"Ready? Key change!
I promise I'll be all you'll need, ever need
You'll never have to shop around," Remington says as he turns and points at me, "C'mon Elias sing,"
"I don't know this song Remington, and Frankly your getting on my nerves,"
"Why are you always such a buzzkill? Jeez," Remington mutters.
"I'm not a buzzkill,"
"Literally the last time you made a positive comment about anything was when Reece couldn't speak because she had some sort of throat infection, and even that was a jerky comment!" Remington says.
"You gotta admit she needs to shut up sometimes," I say.
"That's not the point Elias, your always an asshole and you always killing the fun for other people. Look, I don't know if this is all about your brother or what but you seriously need to start being nice to people," Remington says.
I freeze up.
"This has nothing to do with that." I say angrily. I hate it when he brings that up. I've gotten over it but I'd like to forget that it ever happened, "I'm over it okay. Just don't bring it up."
"Whoa sorry, didn't mean to make you turn all serious there," Remington mutters.
The rest of the walk is silent after that. I don't feel like talking anymore.
